This restaurant has seen many changes. We really enjoy the lounge with it's great atmosphere and live music on Friday and Saturdays. Unfortunately, the food lately has been lacking. We haven't tried all of the items on the new menu but were less than impressed with what we had. My hope is that the owners take the time to actually taste the new menu themselves.

I went with my father on the weekend, at the last minute they were only able to seat us in the lounge which is okay because it is a very attractive environment (although the dining room does look much more intimate and conducive to conversation, the music in the lounge can interfere with conversation). The food was good--wish there was more of it, the portions are very small. The price--wish there was less of it, the cost is expensive in relation to the portions. The service--the servers are nice and polite but their technique of serving (quickly placing plates in front of you) seemed rather rushed like a truck stop, rather than the professional delivery of a "fine dining" establishment. Perhaps the service is different in the Dining Room?

With the local news of Chef Marcel joining 16 Front, we decided to explore. The input of the new chef on the menue was obvious and will need future visits to try it all out.
Re. flavours of Lake Country we were disappointed with the extra charge for the 10 oz sirloin being advertised as $5 and actually being $10 but otherwise the different "special items" were good.
The atmosphere and music was lovely, the service (Natasha) was exeptional and Penny made sure everybody was comfortable.
Suggestions:if you want to enjoy the entertainment request booth or table seating in the bar area.
If you just want a meal and do not have reservations, this restaurant is very acommodating even with serving you food "at the bar" while having an excellent bartender and entertainment at your finger tips.
In the summer time a small patio really brings this place to life. It's location, a short walk from the port and very much downtown make it accessable for all (incl. being "accessable")

Now I am not a big steak eater. But got persuaded to try at this place and was hooked. I have been back twice after and ordered the same. (lately at a "special" $30 dinner menu)

Ambiance: Quite Pleasant
Server: Gurpreet: Wonderful

Food: The starter shrimp/crab plate was very nice; followed by a sizeable piece of steak, exquisitely done, served with just the slightest of distractions!

The accompanying desserts were not spectacular but nice.

Negatives: service (we were delayed in seating and no apology from the preoccupied "manager." Wine: expensive for a small town like Orillia.

Will we go again...yes - for the steak but sparsely, due to the price point.

ps: To the Management: The palate cleanser "pudding" between starter and main - get a sorbet or just drop the idea.- it almost ruined my steak.

Went for lunch with my boss, it was very nice, food was good, a little pricey! I would go again, but not too often.
