“Enchanting Evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

The calibre of the performers was better than expected for their June SUDS! production. The on the water location added greatly to the ambience and enchantment. Wished we could be around for the entire summer's program if this was representative of what is to come.

We have gone to at least 8 perfomances at The Playhouse & we have never been dissapointed. The atmosphere is warm & inviting. Perfomances great. Also, second playhouse open in the summer.

“Food For The Soul!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

Each season brings a wide range of shows from farces, that will remind you of British comedy, to serious productions that will make you wonder how we manage to survive life's travails!!! The theatre offers many ways to sample their productions at very reasonable prices: preview only costs $16; booking a month before may only be $22.50; & a 10% discount is offered on their website through May 23, 2013 if you sign up for e-mail alerts. Check "Ways To Save" on their web page for other offers. I would love to live closer than the seven-hour drive that we take now as a season ticket would be my wish for Mother's Day!!!
The parking is a challenge as you need to park on one of the many side streets, but the neighbours are friendly as long as you do not block their driveways. Also, the theatre has a golf-cart to assist those less able to walk to the door. There are many B&Bs in the neighbourhood where you can stay, park, and walk to the theatre. If you really want to get a good parking spot, find one early, and walk to have a meal at the restaurant inside the hotel on the corner near the docks, just a saunter from the theatre. The Springer theatre is plush, and the ladies' room is very theatrical with elaborate outfits decorating the doors. My only regret is that the outside cleaning crew does not sweep away the spiders' webs near the benches on the porches outside by the river because seeing the moon glow reflected on the Saint Lawrence is enchanting ...until you feel like "Little Miss Muffet" in the childhood tale!!!

“Live theatre on the shores of the St. Lawrence River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

I saw a play there last summer. So a lovely theatre located in an idyllic spot on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. There are upper and lower decks/balconies over looking the water. A lovely place to sit and watch the world go at intermission or any time!!
