We stopped at Gananoque for the night after a long day driving from Niagara to Montreal. The room was very comfortable without being overdone. Clean, tidy, spacious with a good quality furnishings and fittings. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

It was a warm summer evening and the town was looking very picturesque. It seemed a relaxing atmosphere and the people were friendly. We would have enjoyed a few days there if we had the time and would have done a tour of the 1000 islands on one of the boats we could see from our bedroom window.

It was a bit dearer than other places we stayed although we were given a discounted rate but was definitely the nicest place we stayed.

I was just recently married at the Inn (on February 28, 2004) and from the very beginning the staff was so helpful with every aspect of the planning. To begin with Jane Wilson who is the wedding organizer at the Inn was so plesant, polite and helpful, she had everythign organized, contacted us often and basically took all my ideas adn turned them into reality! The meal was absolutley fantastic as well. The ambiance was perfect. Our room (the honeymoon suite) was perfect as well, wonderful view adn very comfotable. I cant say a negative thing regarding this establishment. A big thank you goes out to all who helped that day (Helen in the dinign room was great as well, very nice) I highly recommend the Inn for something as simple as a getaway to a wedding.
Just great!

My wife and I were vacationing by circumnavigating lakes Ontario and Erie letting the day decide where we would stay for the night. We literally stumbled on the Gananoque Inn and wound up staying three days instead of the one we had planned. Service is superb, and the lakefront room we had was spacious and comfortable (jacuzzi included). We could sit on the lawn in Adirondak chairs (looking at BIG sailboats and snarly jet skis) and have drinks brought--very nice. The bed featured feather pillows and was unusually comfortable. The food was good, but not memorable. Gananoque has some excellent restaurants, though. Best of all, right across the road was Paddy's Pub, not as touristy as it sounds. The food there was wonderful, and (as is usual in Canada) the people were friendly and helpful. All in all, a great experience, and we will go back.

The Gananoque Inn is an historic inn right on the banks of the St.
Lawrence Seaway close to the 1000 Island tour boats. It is meticulously maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was in the original building and was immaculate and attractively decorated. The bathroom was newly renovated. We even had a view of the seaway although that was'nt mentioned when we made our reservation.Breakfast was included with our room and was excellent. Both the dining room and the pub (Musky Jake's) have outdoor dining overlooking the water and the latter seems to be quite popular with the locals. An outstanding choice if you are staying in the 1000 Island region.
