We stayed at the Motel Outlet for two nights. It's very conveniently located within walking distance of the lake, shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and the Wifi service was excellent.
We didn't have a kitchenette, but we did have a microwave and a small fridge in our room.

We chose this cute little motel because it was conveniently located between our airport in Montreal and our destination in Maine.
The accommodation was sparkling clean.
Its location is a short stroll from the busier part of town and relatively quiet.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, fluently bilingual. People love to sit on the front porch in the evening and chat. The town too is extremely friendly.
We plan to make Magog a destination again someday, when the fields of lavender are in bloom! and not just a place on the way somewhere else.

The people who run the motel are wonderful and while the rooms are old style they are immaculately maintained and clean. Main street in Magog, the park, the lake are all within walking distance. Be aware lodging is not cheap in Magog and you'll pay more for this motel than you'd expect, but I still think it's the best deal in town I loved the place and would gladly stay again.

Bill Bryson would be proud - the toilet in this decidedly old-school motel had been 'sanitised for my protection'. The TV had first seen service in the early 70s and interior design had clearly been executed by someone - who should have been. But I love it here - old-fashioned and basic it may be, but it claims to be nothing else. It's as clean as a new pin, everything works just fine, the bed is comfy, the staff lovely. As I write this, we're sitting out on the freshly-painted deck outside our room enjoying the late evening sun, and we've exchanged pleasantries with three or four other guests returning to their rooms after a day out - something you simply wouldn't get in a hotel or indeed a b&b. Other accommodation options in Magog are fairly limited if you don't want the full maple-syrup-with-everything homey b&b experience - aftter a week of that we were looking for something different.

Locationwise, it's an easy 5-10 minute stroll into town. The road outside the motel, whilst not particularly busy, could cause light sleepers some problems with traffic noise - our request for a quiet room was easily accommodated, and our first night here was fine. There are only 17 rooms in total, so the service is failrly personal. Rooms are basically furnished - and the only down side is the lack of hair dryer or ironing facilities. Reception lent us both, but the iron was purchased specifically for us, and the ironing board brought in from the owner's own home - with good grace and charm. A bonus is the free wireless internet - which works fine.

Don't expect luxury, but if you're looking for basic accommodation done pretty well in this attractive part of Quebec, you could do a great deal worse than this motel.

We were looking for an economy motel within walking distance of downtown Magog, and found exactly that at Motel de l'Outlet.

Our room's amenities were basic (fridge, microwave, tableware, old TV with cable), but everything was clean and functional.

Most of our time was spent skiing at Orford, and enjoying the restaurants and cafés of beautiful Magog, so the simplicity of Motel de l'Outlet suited us just fine.

Not only were the accommodations inexpensive, but the motel provided lift tickets for Mont Orford at a rate that was lower than what we would have paid at the hill. Bonus!

The staff were friendly and down-to-earth, and the shower was hot and powerful (most welcome after a full day on the slopes!).

If you're looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel experience, this isn't it. But if all you need is "clean, basic and functional", you've come to the right place.
