Reviewed December 2, 2013

Everything about this restaurant was amazing, starting with the service, the food, the ambiance. Definately can't go wrong with this choice. The waiter was very polite and new his menu. Once again all I can say is Amazing! Worth the price.

“Recto Verso...Perfecto!”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

Whether you are visiting or living in the Ste-Adele area, Recto Verso is one restaurant you must try (...we've been regular customers since at least 2009). This restaurant strikes the perfect balance between contemporary gastronomy and comforting home cooking. Chef Bruno's cuisine is always inventive yet remains down to earth by offering quality locally sourced ingredients with a dash of international inspiration. To keep things interesting, the menu changes according to the seasons. Their wine cellar offers a nice selection of private imports as well as better known classics. Go for the tasting menu and wine pairing if you are looking for an all out culinary excursion. (...and if you're looking for a good deal, they often offer a "2 for 1" menu on Wednesday).

“Delicious and imaginative”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

We decided to go out for our anniversary and looked for interesting and of course "good" restaurants in our area. Of course, we first consulted TripAdvisor, and this restaurant popped out as one of the most highly rated. Most of the reviews talked about hit/miss dishes of the imaginative young (40's) chef so we had a look at their on-line menu....it all sounded delicious. And when they advertised a 2 for 1 special (chefs choice) on Wednesdays (it was Wednesday!), the deal was sealed. An unimposing restaurant, we were warmly welcomed and given a choice of tables. The room is sweet with a rustic decor. The special offered either a terrine (veal) or cucumber gazpacho soup (each of us chose one....both delicious), while 3 main courses were described: an eggplant pasta dish, a salmon pave, and short ribs. We chose the salmon and the pasta. The pasta was outstanding! The salmon was great too, perfectly prepared, but a bit ordinary....I was thinking that I could certainly make the salmon at home. Service was excellent, and the waiter very attentive. A great choice for us.

“Great service, original cuisine sometimes lacking precision”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

The staff was really nice and you feel really in good hands all night. The wine list is extremely interesting especially the private imports ...

The food is inventive and you can tell the chef is having a lot of fun experimenting... Like in most experiments though, some are great successes while others lack precision... We had a wonderful soup and nice foie gras but other courses had too many ingredients fighting for the front stage and ended up lacking personality. The salmon tartar was very creamy and tasted more like some kind of mayonnaise than the fish itself

All in all, I would really rate the place a 3.5 but bumped it to a 4 for the service and the wine list and for the creative side of the cuisine itself

“wonderful surprise”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

We hadn't expected this rastaurant, which has changed hands over the years, to be so fine, The chef is extremely creative, and each season the menu changes to reflect both his creativity and the foods of the particular seaon.,Once we asked for a vegetarian meal for a friend and were offered several choices that were not on the menu, Our friend requested eggs and was given a wonderful omelet at a reasonable price. Service can be a bit hestiant but the servers try hard to please and are even good to our (well behaved) grandchildren. Wednesdays are special--a two for one price from a select menu.
