This is a very nice pub serving good food. Light, airy and clean. We have visited three times. Prices are high and are not representative of those in other local eating establishments. Especially the soft drinks. The soft drinks in our hotel bar were significantly less than in the pub.

The sweets were delivered incorrectly and returned but not replaced. When mentioning at the bar the manager was most reluctant to adjust the bill despite the fact that a colleague admitted he had made a mistake.

A member of our party is disabled and the bays are conveniently adjacent to the entrance but unfortunately taken by a Range Rover, Jaguar and a Anglian window van non of which had a disabled badge visible. On mentioning this to the staff we were advised this was a sore point as all three vehicles were associated with the Landlady. This was not an isolated incident and did cause some inconvenience for us and presumably others.

The atmosphere is good especially when the garden can be used. Service can be slow but food is served with a smile and a restaurant service is available which saves the hassle of queuing a the bar.

Agee Sunday lunches are good.

The above comments were issues that can be remedied with a little more attention to the detail of customer care and would increase the rating of this pub in our opinion.

Whilst staying at gatwick for 2 nights, we decided to pop out for a drink, and came across the black horse. We found the service superb , but unfortunately the kitchen was closed..
We were so impressed by the welcome of cassie, and her very tall co-worker that we decided to return the next night for a meal.
This turned out to be one of our best decisions .
The food arrived quickly, and , although simple fair, was delicious. Two main courses, 1 pudding and 5 of cassies wonderful pimms.
All in all a great evening and we will be sure to return every time we are around this area..
Don't forget people... Try cassie's pimms !!!

We ate here May 26th while staying at a local B and B Three Acres (review to follow)

Very friendly staff. Nice separate eating area if you didn't want to sit in main bar. Cleanliness seemed a high priority which is always a plus.
Menu is varied and reasonable.

We checked it out online before our meal. You can also reserve a table online.
Would definitely eat there again as so much choice on the menu!

A very relaxed atmosphere with lots if seating outside to eat or drink weather permitting.
Nice play area for kids too
