We visited the bucks head inn with a party of 7. Arriving separately from the grouo we where greeted with a warm smile and was asked for drinks order and if we wanted to go straight through to the restaurant. When the remainder of our party arrived we sll had different thing.

2 had the roast, 2 of us had burgers and one had fish and the others the lasagne. They all came out and the presentation had incredible attention to detail more importantly we all tucked into our foid with the occasional person lifting their head to say how good it was. We shared the fish plater, neat plater and the nachos for starter which I was glad to share, don't think I would if managed one to myself as well as the main.

To my foolishness we decided to order pudding again they came out dressed amazingly, I had the meringue and I swear it was the size if my head and tasted great.

We go out a lot around the area Burston, Diss, stradbroke, Thornham etc and thus overall us tge best for value for money and taste, cannot wait to return

Well done

We read in the local paper about the renovation and reopening of the Buck's Head last July and tried it out one evening on our way home. It was an excellent meal and we liked the minimalist decor in a Grade 2 listed Suffolk farmhouse building. The one issue we had with one of the two meals was addressed immediately, and we talked to management about their ability and willingness to take a group booking for up to 20 people in a lunch group in 2013. They were keen, so the group event took place last Thursday for 17 guests.

We pre-ordered from a special menu of five mains and four desserts so that we could all be served within a few minutes and eat our meals together. This happened as requested and everything was spot on. Lasagne was the favourite choice, followed by Steak and Ale Pie, Fish & Chips and Mushroom Stroganoff. All meals were very nicely presented, and the ingredients were all locally sourced and grown. The service was excellent and cheerful.

Dessert preferences were Cheesecake, Stcky Toffee Pudding and Meringue. As with the mains, the presentation and tastes were excellent. The coffee was not instant and extremely good. The whole was an excellent package, and we shall return there again next year. If you're passing, drop in for a meal or a snack. You won't be disappointed.

There is no doubt that since this pub has been under the current management it has blossomed. Good menu with nice presentation and service. Located on the A140 between Ipswich and Norwich it caters for passing trade, but many local people have returned as they now appreciate what is on offer. Excellent value for money,

Had a really nice, well presented seafood platter to share and good coffee. Pub has been renovated simply but very well done. Worth supporting if you're local to the area.

We live nearby but had'nt got round to trying this recently 'refurbed/new management' freehouse. Wish we had tried it earlier... its fantastic. Staff are extremly welcoming and polite. We sat in the lounge area on leather sofa's browsing the menu and chilling out with a drink. Looking around at the decor you cannot believe its the same pub, its clean, fresh but maintains its country pub status. The menu is varied and all... I mean all food is home cooked to order and sourced from local suppliers... no frozen meals from the microwave here. Main meals are maybe slightly more than a chain type pub but its worth every penny. I can recommend the Chilli Beef to start which was so authentic you would think its was from a top notch oriental restaurant. The steak burger and chips was also very special for a straight forward sounding dish and the strawberry and cream meringue was enormous and and scrummy.. but its too big and is ideal to be shared unless you have a massive appetite!!
Dont waste your money travelling to chain type pubs/ diners when you can have something decent and locally sourced food here...Also I noticed that they are very child friendly and will accomodate families needs.
Thanks for a fab meal Bucks Head... I will be spreading the word!
