“A great stay!”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We stayed with Garrett and Patricia for one night en route from the Cliffs of Moher to Blarney. They were very friendly and accommodating (especially of our fussy baby) and arranged for vegetarian meals for my husband and I. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Would recommend highly.

This B&B provided a nice room with a beautiful view of the castle nearby. The castle seems to be a local attraction as cars were stopping to see it during open hours. B&B hosts were very welcoming. The town closest is quiet, so the B&B offers a dinner option for guests arriving early enough to make an order. They serve their own grown vegetables and the dinner was quite delicious! I walked a bit on the island and it is beautiful and peaceful! I would definitely recommend this place!

Room Tip: The blue room facing the castle was really nice!

My Mum stayed here for two nights in May 12 whilst we stayed with relatives in Ballylongford. It is a beautiful rural location (no amenities within walking distance but then we know the area and got what she needed in Bally before turning in for the night), great views and wonderful, welcoming owners who couldn't do enough to help her. She had a very clean, front bedroom with ensuite and TV. This isn't a salubrious place and not somewhere you would want to stay without access to a car but it more than met our expectations and I would certainly use again. Thank you.

We stayed as a family on our way to the Cliffs of Moher. Setting was absolutely beautiful and quiet, lovely castle view. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hosts Patricia and Garrett are great and welcomed us into their home . They prepared us a home cooked dinner and great breakfast. Most enjoyable were our hosts who were very welcoming not to mention that we and the kids got to experience moving their cows herd from one field to another !! What an experience. Thank you !

The B&B is in a beautiful place in the Kerry countryside. The hosts, Garrett and Tricia could not have been more welcoming. They serve their own home-grown potatoes and vegetables at dinner and the cooked breakfasts are also delicious. The rooms are a little dated but otherwise fine. Very good value for money.

We were very warmly welcomed and our room was spotless. The view from our window of Carrigafoyle Castle was absolutely stunning. The breakfasts were great as was the evening meal. The location of Castle View House suited us perfectly, being on an island meant no traffic noise so we had wonderful sleeps - but it was also very central to everything we wanted to see. Patricia & Garrett are wonderful hosts and we recommend them highly.

We spent 6 nights in Castle View House and had a room with a beautiful view of the Carrigafoyle Castle. Patricia and Garrett welcomed us very warmly. The room with the little bathroom was not very big, but the big bed inside was very comfortable and we slept very well. There was a homelike lounge with a big TV and a burning fireplace. In the evenings we could sit on the cosy leather sofas, had some tea and planned our next trip. We could use the Wifi. Garrett often talked to us, gave us some helpful information or just told us something about his farming. It was a pleasure to talk to him. He was very mindful and polite. Patricia was also nice but she made the service in the backround and has not been seen so often. Breakfast was good and they tried to fulfill every desire. You can have homemade Dinner if you wish. We took it one time. It was served with soup and dessert and it was fine. The location of the Castle View House is not very central, the distance to Ballylongford ist about 3 km. But we had a car and for us it was no problem. Therefor you have a quiet place to relax. You can walk around Carrig Island and sometimes you have company of a little white dog. The castle opens to visit in June. Unfortunately we left before. But Garrett showed us some photos. We felt very familiar in this house and we would like to visit again. Greetings from Germany, A & A
