Gorgeous site, rooms, beach, panorama. Very nice staff (doesn't speak much English than elsewhere in Thailand, but very nice). MUST be improved : pitiful breakfast buffet (no choice, very poor quality ...), sometimes a problem of quantity (4 shrimps and white rice in a dish of Pepper Shrimps). CAN'T be improved (but annoying for people having a light sleep like me) : the noise of "long tails" (boats) from 6 AM (the air conditionned rooms slightly decrease that fact).
But the positive points greatly overcome the "negative" ones. I LOVE that place. Might come back one day ...

Its hard to imagine a better place to stay. Lovely bungalows right on the beach on a peninsula that affords the visitors nearly 360 views of the ocean! Sivalai was definitely a highlight of our 3 week honeymoon throughout Thailand & Cambodia. We loved the seclusion and romantic setting of the island of Koh Muk and especially the location of Sivalai.
If you want to venture beyond the lovely grounds, we would highly recommend contacting Mr. Yong - you can find him and his shop just past the school - turn right at the small convenience shop and keep going until you see his sign. His boat trips are much more reasonable than what is offered by the resort - and a more personable & fun experience! We booked a trip with him to the Emerald Cave and he knew just when to go when there werent any other people there at all. It was a great experience swimming through the pitch black cave that opens up unto a jungle oasis.
For food outside of Sivalai - grab a ride to Cheap Cheap and Different. Great spot for a cheap and delicious dinner with plenty of entertaining stories from the owners.
But back to Sivalai - the rooms were very comfortable with large cushy beds and nice decks to lay on and catch the sunrise/sunset. If you are looking for a perfect honeymoon spot - you could not do better!

Sivalai is a beautiful island resort that we will definitely go back to on our next trip. Very secluded and beautiful, you can enjoy the sea view on both sides of the resort. The best part of this charming little island and resort is that it is not overcrowded with people. The beach is in pristine condition. We would have never even heard of this little paradise if it wasn't for the travel agency we worked with called Andaman Sky. We asked them to give us some suggestions regarding best-kept-secret style places, and this place was definitely all the way up there. Great advice !
This is one of those rarities you won't hear about on the big tourism websites. Worth discovering !
