Hotel Le Mas d'Aigret
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 29, 2011

We stayed here for two nights in July and it was one of the highlights of my whole trip to France.

The quality of food in the restaurant was amazing and the service was always helpful and friendly.

We were within walking distance of the town and easy driving distance of most of the main attractions in Provence. The views from the apartments are stunning and there is a good sized pool available for guests.

Only down side is that the air conditioning is only really effective in the room where the unit sits, so we did have to leave the windows open at night in the second bedroom (which did unfortunately attract the mosquitos).

Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet location in Provence

Although this hotel is in a stunning location in Les Baux de Provence we were disappointed that we were so far away from good restaurant choices. The hotel restaurant was wonderful but expensive for a family of four with two teenage children. We would have preferred to be closer to other restaurant choices without having to get into our car each night. The Hotel is very close to the town of Les Baux which is so beautiful but all of the shops and restaurants are geared for tourists and not of very high quality. The rooms were not very large and the hotel could use some renovating. The owner is wonderfully friendly but at night there was no staff available at all which we were a little uncomfortable with while we were so far away from amenities.

A quaint hotel in a lovely setting...vineyards, olive groves and the Les Baux Castle. The room was comfortable though not luxury. The food was excellent (one of the best we had in France) with a view from the terrace of vineyards and olive trees. Magic. Great staff with helpful suggestions of the area. Very nice place.

We stayed in the superior room with a balcony on the second floor for two nights this June. Our room was extremely plain, but very clean and comfortable. The bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated and we enjoyed the view from the balcony. The hotel is charming with a restaurant with a beautiful view and an outdoor heated pool. There is a short walking path behind the hotel that leads to the village and castle of Les Baux. Besides eating at the hotel, there was very few limited options for dinner in the village of Les Baux. However, the village of St-Remy-de-Provence is only a 15 minute drive and has plenty of good restaurants. Overall, the service was great and we'd love to go back again.

I was very lucky to have chosen Le Mas as my hotel when I stayed in Les Baux. It is close to the centre (but to walk one needs good shoes and VERY clear directions - you can get very lost down random dirt roads). My friend was getting married and her reception was at the very famous La Cabro D Or. 5* I have to say the location and view from my hotel 3* put hers to shame! I had a lovely and hospitable welcome, and there it ends. The bed was something i seem to remember from camping. Despite the romantic setting I would test even my teddy bear to risk a movement without crashing us into oblivion. I must admit it is stunning, and considering the costs of all the other hotels it is perfect. Do be aware it is rustic. Very very rustic if you take the 'pool / mountain ' etc rooms. Also be carefull about Les Baux and Baux as they are different. The mountain market town is Les baux-de-provence. Hotels in Baux are close but you need a taxi. Do not make that mistake as the taxi will laugh at you.

Room Tip: swimming pool balcony

Great value and location. Owners Eric and Marique were so nice like family. Layed backed atmosphere, nice restaurant with evening meals and breakfast, i think they serve lunch later in the season. The hotel is right below the les baux castle 4 minute walk and a spectacular view of the french country side. Easy to see all the provence towns within 45-1hr at most, great signs and with a gps no problem. The value is great cost 1066 euros with 2 dinners and 6 breakfast for 6 nights about $240 a night . There are "fancier" hotels in the area but they will cost at least $400-$500 a night for the same type of package and since your always out i think mas was a great deal! A space shuttle commander stayed there...... good enough for him!

Stayed here as a result of Trip Advisor and it was wonderful. The view from the room overlooking the olive groves and beneath the Les Baux Castle were lovely. The room itself was so-so, but how long are you in it? The food was excellent served in a cave-like dining room. Lots of character. Great chef and staff and owner was very helpful with area suggestions, and in helping us get travelers checks cashed. Highly recommend this Inn.
