We drove from Edmonton on Tuesday to come here. The website said they were open, but when we got there, we found out via the sign on the door that they are closed Tuesdays. I am not impressed.

Don't judge this place by it's somewhat rundown looking exterior. Inside is an amazingly huge well-kept collection of reptiles from crocodiles and turtles to snakes and lizards from exotic places. Hands on boa constrictor experience.

This is a neat place to go if you want to see a lot of snakes and reptiles, however I found it really sad. The rooms for the snakes are very small and the majority of the time just cement in them. The alligator encloser is terrible, he looks so miserable in his cement pool (literally just a cement room with a pool). If you really need something to do this is okay but definitely could have done a better job.

For anyone with children, this is someplace you have to go. There is the typical "pet store" smell when you first walk in due to all the animals, but I assure you it is worth it. Not only are there numerous animals on display that you will rarely see elsewhere, the staff will bring out the house favourite snake, Brittany and allow you or your kids to hold her and pose for pictures. We have been coming to Reptile World for 12 years now and never tire of it!

Where else could one hold a boa, or get close to a crocodile in the Badlands? There was ample parking and a spacious air-conditioned building in which view what was advertised as Canada's largest reptile display. Thankfully we had a lazy afternoon to get out of the heat and enjoy this educational and informative attraction. The kids thought that it was the highlight of our vacation.
