“Friendly place to stay”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We spent two nights at the Inn. It was conveniently located; we walked down to the river and downtown area. The room was nice; mini-fridge was a plus for us. The owners are very friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. We were out and about during the day and it was quiet and peaceful in the evening for relaxing. If you are dependent upon wi-fi, it has its own mind about reception. The room we were in had a jacuzzi, which was quite enjoyable. The shower curtain apparatus probably is the only thing that would need some attention in the room for the convenience and use for the guests. If we ever visit Drumheller again, we would definitely stay at the Inn.

Thank you for reviewing the Heartwood - we appreciate your thoroughness. We rarely have complaints about our WiFi and will check immediately. Regarding the shower enclosure, we are addressing some of the rooms that have round tubs with the suspended shower curtain surround - we hope to be able to remove them all and have just regular curtains. Maybe on your next visit they will be fixed. Patrice Wolf owner

This was a friendly, great place to stay, with an excellent room and wonderful breakfast next morning. The room we were in was unique and very nice, and had a nice jet tub in it. We did not use the Spa.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Vacation Bungalow which was a small house nearby the hotel. It was fantastic for our family - a small barbecue so we could cook our dinners, a backyard for the kids to run around, separate sleeping space for the kids and adults, and a well-stocked kitchen. The owners were fantastic at helping us plan our time in Drumheller and even gave us tips for the next leg of our journey (Dinosaur Provincial Park).

We are so happy you and your family enjoyed the vacation bungalow. It has been a hit with families who like sitting around the bonfire at night. Because it's a good size we find many groups will book multiple hotel rooms with us, then the bungalow is used for their entire group as the central meeting place. Thanks again - Patrice Wolf

This has got to be one of the best experiances I have had staying at a B&B ever. It is centrally located and they go out of their way to make everyone feel at home. The rooms are so clean but well decorated with the antiques and modern facilities.
The price was more then worth the stay.
I have and will continue to recommend them to everyone.

My boyfriend and I booked a room here because we were coming through town to go to the museum. What we didn't know when booking is how good the service really would be! Zeke sounded very friendly when I called to book, even offering to walk to us if we couldn't find it. We stayed in the "honeymoon cottage", and it was absolutely lovely. Cozy, and comfy with a nice big jacuzzi tub and a couch. The rest of the house is furnished beautifully and the dining room was set up in such a way that you could get to know all of the other visitors! We had a wonderful&delicious breakfast of berry French toast, home made!!! All in all, this stop was the best on our whole trip, and we have stayed in 8 hotels across Canada this week! Thank you again to everyone at the heartwood!

Wow, what a flattering review - thank you! We do try to be the romantic getaway place in Drumheller but come breakfast - it's all about meeting the other guests and hearing travel stories. We've had some breakfasts go so long it was time for lunch when they headed out. But what a great way to meet new people and hear about far away places. We hope to see you again.

The Heartwood Inn and Spa is a great place to stay in Drumheller. It is reminiscent of a bed and breakfast, without the breakfast. We stayed in the Pinewood Room. The room was clean and welcoming. If you wish to stay off the beaten path, this is the place to go.

This is a small B&B in a residential neighborhood in Drumheller. Our room was lovely (and large). The people who ran it were friendly, interesting, and helpful, and offered good recommendations on how to use our limited time in the area, where to eat, etc. The town of Drumheller is a hoot - large plastic dinosaurs everywhere, including a giant one in the center of town. The Royal Tyrell Museum is excellent. The area itself is quite beautiful - this is the borderline between the badlands to the east and farmland to the west towards Calgary. Worth a trip.

Thank you for your very kind review. It is so nice that you felt we were a bed and breakfast but in fact we are an eleven room Inn. The biggest difference being we have a lot more rooms to clean. The local dinosaurs are a real hit with everyone, it's a badge of honour in this town to have a dinosaur of some sort in your yard. Some people spend days trying to photograph every single one. Hope you'll come back again soon. Patrice Wolf - owner
