“honeymoon”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

We are staying in the honeymoon Cottage, it even has a jacuzzi in it.
Zeke is an excellent cook and his French toast with berries was awesome.
It is right downtown and easy to get everywhere.
The bed was very comfortable and with the air conditioner it stayed very cool.
I want to thank Zeke for his knowledge of the area and his funny remarks.

Room Tip: they have different rooms with different themes, but because we are newlyweds we asked for the honey...

My husband and I decided to go somewhere in Alberta to golf for our 1st Anniversary. I was somewhat skeptical when he chose Drumheller but when we arrived at the Heartwood Inn and Spa, I was pleasantly surprised. Zeke was more than accommodating when he was able to adjust our t-time do to late arrival. We booked the main turret room which was clean and cool, literally cool as the July 1st weather was very warm! Zeke recommended the Athens Greek Restaurat for dinner and the food was fabulous. In the morning we had a lovely breakfast of stuffed french toast (berries) and maple syrup. We truly had a lovely time. Thank you!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Heartwood inn and spa for our anniversary. The room was very nice and the king size bed was soooo comfortable that we asked for a late c/o on our last day to lie in it for a bit longer. Thre jacuzzi tub was a plus for sure. The hotel is very close to downtown and its attractions. Patrice and Zeke, the owners, were very nice and helpful with recommendations on what to see/do. On our first morning, we were treated nicely to homemade french toast from Zeke.

We went to see Horsetief Canyon, the Suspension Bridge, The Hoodoos, The Last Chance Saloon, and the Dinosaur Museum (The Tyrrell Museum). We loved it. Had a wonderful weekend. The atmosphere of the town makes you feel like you are in a different place in the world.

The owners were lovely. The room spacious and clean. The price of $300 a night was however high as we were not allowed to turn on fireplace, no breakfast included, the 2 pillows were hard pancake pillows. Ouch! The bedding was Rayon and plastic blanckets which were definately not fresh and my robe had dried food on it from a previous guest. :(

Thanks for your review, the price issue you mention does happen sometimes in the summer, many people arrive in Drumheller without a reservation. The Chancel Guest house where you stayed was likely the only room we had available and yes it's $300 but sleeps 6, has 8 pillows to choose from, a beautiful double sided fireplace (which is shut off in the summer for obvious reasons) a big double jacuzzi and a private back yard with firepit and bbq. Next time you are thinking of visiting Drumheller, book your reservation early as our more affordable rooms book well in advance - the Dormer starts at $99 and we have a few around $159 - my favourite room is the Main Turret - check it out - at $189 it's excellent value.

My son and I stayed in lower turret room, which had just the right amount of room for us (2 beds). Our room was cozy, very clean and had everything we needed including a mini-fridge, jetted tub and a flat screen tv. The garden and neighbourhood were lovely as well. Zeke was a great help in deciding our itinerary and making a dinner suggestion and reservation for us at Athens Greek restaurant. His stuffed French toast breakfast was delicious.

If they'd had vacancy we would have stayed one more night - everything was great! We'll be back :)
