Owner description: The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site is considered Canada's most complete historic coal mine and offers visitors a range of interpretive tours, on the surface, underground and up into the last wooden tipple in the country. We tell the amazing stories of the miners who came to seek their fortunes in the Drumheller Valley, in the heart of the Canadian Badlands.

This place is great! We went on all four tours, and learned a lot. Had a couple of neat paranormal experiences while we were there! Nothing dangerous, just lights going on and off, and a door opening on it's own! So very awesome!

Our guide, Jafaa, was informative and interesting through the tunnel tour. Well worth the money and time.

We took the train visit and it was very informative. Our guide was very nice and she really knows about the use of the mining cars in transporting the coal. You get to ride a mining car as well. Also, there's kids participation and my son really enjoyed it. There are 2 other trips that we weren't able to go so definitely we'll come back for that.

We spent a morning at the Coal Mine. We took the tunnel tour. Kelsey was our tour guide. She was very cheerful and informative. We climbed up to the top where the mine entrance was and learned about the mine and how it was run as well as humorous stories that had happened over the years. Well worth our time.

Get there before 5pm for the little train going around the grounds, we missed it unfortunately. Great staff, great tour. We did the hoodoo trail road and caught this at the end of the day, it was a great end to the day.
