We got off the ferry at 2am in Prince Rupert and drove to Edson for the second leg of our Alaska to Virginia relocation(leg 1 was the ferry). When we got there, we were ready to crash and burn. The lady at the desk was very helpful and got us checked in very quickly. The room was clean and well-appointed for an Econo Lodge and we were very pleased. The front desk lady even recommended a restaurant nearby that was outstanding.

I booked this hotel on line on booking.com for a one nighter. It should have been at least decent as a 2 star. Ok, the room was small. The problem was the lack of water pressure for one. The big problem was our bathroom fan, and the neighbours one! They both sounded like a helicopter taking off. And in out room. A person could not use the bathroom without turning it on and awaking the other. When the neighbour turned his on at 9 pm and left it on, we had to ask for an other room.

Room Tip: Think twice

We are in Edson for one night only and picked the Econo Lodge due to it being the cheapest. One day we will learn, you get what you pay for. The windows are single pane sliding windows, not much different from a 1970's mobile home. The air conditioner, mounted through the wall is loose and sloppy and the cold air is pouring in, so I tied 2 towels around it to slow the draft. The rooms are water heat and take, well we have been here for 5 hours and cranked the thermostat and we are going to bed fully clothed with hoodies on. We are from Alberta and used to cold, but this is awful. Probably a decent, economical place to stay in the summer months.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

Stayed here as an overnight stop on a road trip from Saskatoon to the coast. The hotel is oriented around being a road side stop on the way to somewhere else, such as Jasper. For what it is, it is quite good. The rooms are large, clean, the furnishing looks fairly new. The breakfast is basis and limited but I was not expecting much more. Edson is full of similar hotels, this one feels a little newer that some of the other nearby hotels. Within walking distance to the centre of town.
