“Great hot breakfast, staff and facility set this place apart”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here en route to Fort McMurray because of Tripadvisor reviews. Staff greeted us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm for our plan to tour the oil sands. The hotel was very new and the room, comfortable. The highlight was the free breakfast. Usually when hotels offer a free breakfast, one gets what one pays for: bagels, toast, yogurt and maybe a banana.

Here, the free breakfast is hot, tasty and with a range of choices. I had scrambled eggs, sausage and fruit. My son made himself waffles. This very happy start to our day reminded me why I like to stay at Le Germain, whose downtown Toronto and Montreal locations and business clientele allow them to charge about twice what we paid at the Hospitality Inn.

Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We love to hear back from our guests, especially those who’ve visited us because of our Tripadvisor reviews! One of the great things about being an independently owned hotel is that we have a little more freedom to make our guests stays unique. One of the things our owners believe strongly, is that should be able to supply our guests with a warm and filling breakfast before they begin their day. And so our Hot & Hearty Heartland Breakfast was born, and it varies every morning because all of our food is made fresh in house. Our kitchen staff arrive every morning before the sun is up to bake croissants, scones, muffins and other delicious pastries fresh for our guests, as well as prepare a variety of eggs, breakfast meats and other staples.

We hope you enjoyed your tour, and we look forward to seeing you next time you visit Alberta.

Best Regards,
Jessica

From the moment we were greeted at the front desk to when we checked out, we were made to feel like we mattered. The hotel is new (three years, I think), very clean, tastefully appointed, and the beds and bedding were top notch. Comfortable with soft bedding! Breakfast was included and what a lovely spread. Fruit, pastries, breads, eggs, quiche, sausages, potatoes, pancakes and waffles with all the fixings and more. Our son was not able to make it down for breakfast and the attendant there was thoughtful enough to bring us a platter with a plate cover for us to bring food upstairs to our room for him. We will recommend this little gem to everyone we know. Thank you to all the staff and congratulations to the owner of this establishment. WELL DONE.

Thank you so much for reviewing our hotel and sharing your pleasant stay. Our hotel has only been opened for 4 years. We take pride in our housekeeping standards which has awarded us a 3 year winning streak for the AHLA Housekeeping Award. We love hearing how much guests enjoy our beds and because of this we offer a program where guests may purchase one of these Felicity II Pillowtop Simmons Beautyrest Mattress’. Thank you for your compliments on our breakfast, we work hard to keep our guests satisfied. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to seeing you again.

Safe Travels and Best Regards,

The hotel is lovely, clean and well located. Near all amenities and services. and a minute walk to a plethora of restaurants and stores including most big box stores. It has friendly staff, but the food left a lot to be desired. Billed as a buffet it had some selection, but it was missing the flavour and appeal of most restaurants. As a place to go for breakfast, on the weekend, i suggest A and W across the street, its a much better deal. Both in price and quality of food, which really says it all!

Thank you for your feedback. We are revaluating our current breakfast program. At the moment it is designed to allow our guests a hearty breakfast to start his/her day. While we are not a restaurant, we welcome locals who wish to join us in the morning.

Our breakfast is included in the room cost for guests staying with us. We offer a full hot continental breakfast buffet. With fresh eggs, hash browns, bacon, ham or sausage, and waffles with fresh toppings as our hot items. We also offer traditional continental breakfast items including; cereal (both hot and cold), fruit, yogurt, pastries and breads.

For a meal we have tailored to be open to locals as well as in house guests, I recommend joining us for our evening buffet. It is served daily from 5-9pm with Thursdays being our special night with Prime Rib (in the winter) and BBQ Steak (in the summer).

I look forward to the opportunity to have you join us again.

Sincerely,

Jana Rowe

The staff here are exceptional. Friendly and professional. Our stay is always the best and we always chat up this "home away from home" to other travellers.

Clean comfortable rooms, nice decor, we love reading the history facts and looking at the pictures in our rooms, comfy beds and great location.

Thank you to the chef for going out of his way to accommodate my allergies. You are the best.

To all the staff, thank you for a very pleasant stay. See you soon.

Room Tip: Stay here, all rooms are great.

‘(Our) Home in the Heartland’ is how we often refer to our hotel. All of the staff enjoy making each guest feel like a family.

The historical pictures of the Fort Saskatchewan area, that adorn the walls, are just a snap shot of the history in this area. The reconstructed Fort is the newest addition to the river valley and museum in town. It is definitely worth checking out. As well, our local grave yard is also filled with monumental moments in our Canadian history, worth checking out your next stay.

Dave, our chef is great at working with food sensitivities, allergies, and special requests. He understands and portrays our “Yes we can” attitude.
We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.

I was surprised with the quality of rooms, very clean, stylish and all details in the room were great. Very comfy beds and Jacuzzi bath was very good addition to the room, steam showers- really good. I loved the stay in this suites. Personnel very polite, not sure in spelling of the name- Donna that works in restaurant was very helpful and very polite. LOVED LOVED LOVED time that we spent with the family there!!!Thank you management of the hotel for keeping every department on sufficient level so people can enjoy the time.

By far an awesome choice for weary travellers. The bed was awesome and the room was spotless. Nothing like a facility that has good staff and facilities. Breakfast and supper were in nice surroundings and of good quality. Will definitley stay there again.

I have stayed here twice and both times, I had the sleep of my life!
The beds are probably some of the best ever, comparable, if not better than many 4/5* places I have been in.

The breakfast is OK, nothing too fancy but generally pleasing. Coffee is available 24/7. The internet around the 4th floor is weak, but the 1st floor is considerably strong.

One thing I didn't fancy was - either the soap they had was very low quality, or their water is really hard, because the lather refused to go. The TVs are a little out of date, and the channels are limited, but then again, the sleep makes up for it!
They have multiple exits, but sometimes the card will not work and you have to walk all the way around to the main entrance.

Staff are generally very helpful, and the hotel is close to many restaurants and other stores.
I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Fort Sask.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the 1st floor if possible.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I too am a fan of our beds, in fact I have purchased a few from our Guest Purchase Program with Simmons Canada for my home.

We are looking into our breakfast program to enhance it. As well we are sourcing alternate options for our internet. We recently have purchased Mobile Hot Spot AirCards to allow our guests the speed they require to work as a temporary solution. Along with the internet we are looking at changing our supplier for our TV channels. We will have to look into what the updates to our TV's would be. I have also looked into the locks on the entrance doors and had to repair on to ensure the card slides through easily.

We look forward to seeing you on your next stay in Fort Saskatchewan
