Fairly new to the area, we heard about the Thursday night music session at Bob's and decided to give it a go. We had fun with the music, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. On the occasions we have eaten there, the food has been good and the daily specials are worth a try - last time was pork loin with a citrus sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables which was very nicely cooked and flavoursome. Portions are fair but not huge, so room for cheesecake for dessert!
Not being Canadian, we sometimes find the hockey mania and ubiquitous television screens everywhere a bit intrusive, but then that is just what you expect in Canada.
When the music is happening, the staff do turn off the sound in that area so it doesn't interfere. I am sure that there are some quiet corners of the restaurant where you could eat without TV getting in your face and I will search those out when I am next in there.
Bob is a nice bloke, working hard and deserves his place to be successful. He is always a good host, remembers your name and has a cheery word.
Altogether, Bob's is a good local eatery for informal dining - good value, home-cooked food in a friendly atmosphere.
