Description: Cotto Enoteca Pizzeria showcases modern Italian cuisine, specializing in authentic VPN certified Neapolitan pizza and comforting Italian dishes. The focal point of the restaurant is undoubtedly the wood fired brick forno. The menu is steeped in Italian tradition, though updated with West Coast sensibility and is presented in an approachable and informal setting. Cotto's simple, yet elegant cuisine features the natural beauty of local, sustainable and seasonal ingredients in an appropriate and sumptuous manner. Showcasing the best ingredients of British Columbia and the traditional techniques of Italy is the overwhelming inspiration behind Cotto Enoteca's kitchen.

What a refreshing restaurant to visit in Burnaby! Great ambiance and service, but the Food is the star at Cotto. Fresh and local ingredients make all the difference and the proof is in the exceptional cuisine.

Our favorites are:

Cotto Fior di Latte

Pollo Arrosto
Maple Hill Farm game hen, balsamic glaze, caramelized cauliflower, eggplant caponata, game hen succo

And for Dessert.. 2 favorites:

Crostata di Cioccolato
Callebaut chocolate tart, caramelized milk, whipped cream

Salted Caramel Budino (YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS!!)
Butterscotch pudding, Maldon sea salt, rosemary biscotti

Grazie Mille Cotto!

Can't too highly recommend the Ensalada Caprese which I can't stop ordering every time I go. It's simple: mozz, tomatoes, basil and a little olive oil and balsamic, but their ingredients are impeccable and the favours to die for. Love the meatballs that melt in your mouth, and the house limoncello is wonderful. Both the chocolate tart and the salted caramel pudding are great -- difficult to choose. (Go with a friend and swap halfway?)

Nice house sparkling "Q" water with endless refills for $1. Very friendly, good wine by the glass, and even their $5 house white is very drinkable.

Definitely recommended if you're in this end of town. Maybe even worth a special trip, especially since parking is free, unlike downtown. And it's on a major bus route, so it's easy to reach. The service is good, the Chef friendly, and ask for advice if you don't know what to order -- they know their food!

We had heard this new restaurant was really good and thought we'd give it a try. We went to Cotto's on a Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. Service was great, not too many customers. We were eating light so split a salad and a pizza and a half bottle of wine. Everything was perfect. By 6:30 customers were starting to fill the restaurant, inside and out. It's really family oriented, lots of young couples and young children at that time of the day. We loved the pizza and the ambiance.

We just returned from having lunch at Cotto. What an energizing experience! When we entered the restaurant we found the noise level higher than what we appreciate and we were not immediately greeted. However, out of nowhere, Chef Tung appeared, greeted and welcomed us as first-time patrons and asked a server to seat us. As we didn't want to sit on high stools, a larger table was cleared right away and we were sitting down within one minute. As Sarah escorted us to our table, Josh, another server, welcomed us as well.
It is an upbeat atmosphere and, though we didn't really enjoy the noise level, it wasn't a huge problem for us. Soon after we were seated, Chef Tung brought us a lovely little plate of fresh bread and chickpea dip. We felt like he was delighted to meet us and have us in his restaurant.
Sarah and Josh were very friendly, efficient, and professional.

My husband and I each ordered a different pizza and they were both very good; wonderful thin fresh crusts, meats, and herbs, and no huge amounts of unhealthy cheese. We certainly didn't need two as one would have more than fed both of us.
The decor is fascinating! Beautifully done with marble, wood, very interesting lights, a lovely bar area, and a really well appointed patio with a variety of plants and wrought-iron fencing.
This restaurant is very classy inside and out and each staff member really understands and executes excellent service.
As we left, several employees called out "Good-byes," and "Have an excellent rest of the day."
What a positive experience!
Well done, Chef Tung!
We'll be back.
