“Charming Outdoor Museum”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

A nicely organized and interesting interpreted open-air museum. Lots of interesting things to see in a lovely setting. During the busy season, lots of excellent interpreters help bring the experience to life. Looks to be fun for kids, but as a kidless-adult, I enjoy it, too. It is free unless you want to ride the Carousel. That is reasonably priced.

“village repeat visitor”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

I have been to the village many times. I take my international students there and I have gone with primary grade classes to the museum. It is a nice representation of Burnaby in the 1920's. Many of the exhibits have people showing activities done in the past such as printing presses and blacksmith jobs. It is a great place to spend a few hours and as well it is frequently free to enter. The costumed people are friendly and informative.

“blast from the pass”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

This is a really neat place to visit, you can reminisce about your childhood days and how things were done years ago (blacksmithing, telegraph, newspapers, etc). The kids get to use some of the old toys and things that their parents used when they were kids to have fun with like walking on stilts. There is an old fashioned Ice Cream Parlour there. They have the old carousel that was at the PNE for years (it has all been restored to what it was like originally) you can ride on it.

“The little village that could”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

This is a magical place that allows us to "peek" into the past history of life in Burnaby, BC. The people who work there in period costumes are patient, friendly and have a healthy sense of humor. This is an excellent place to visit!!

“Great family outing”
Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

I took my 8-year-old. Lots of interesting things to see and to talk about. Sometimes as locals we don't see as much of the city as visitors. I suggest we be a "tourist" at least once a month.
