We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Accent Hotel, Burnaby, and chose this hotel over one in downtown Vancouver as we were visiting visiting family who live nearby. This was our first trip to the Vancouver area.
The hotel surpassed our expectations, given the reasonable rate (less than $90 per night) offered for our long stay. Our room was spotlessly clean, warm and well equipped with coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the reception area warm and welcoming with coffee, newspapers and guest internet. The hotel is in a good area and although rooms are approached from outside via covered walkways, we didn't at any time feel insecure. We used the on-site restaurant a couple of times for breakfast and dinner and had good food at reasonable cost. For choice there are also White Spot and Swiss Chalet restaurants, and the usual Tim Hortons, Subway & McDonalds all within 10 minutes walk. For more upmarket dining, downtown Vancouver is easily accessible by public tansport - just about 20 minutes by Skytrain, and the nearest station is a few minutes easy walk away.
We got a taxi from the airport ($40) and used public transport throughout our stay. We bought daily transit passes ($8 each) which covered skytrains, buses and Seabus, and as well as seeing the sites of downtown, we used our passes to go out of town to visit Lighthouse Park, Bowen Island and Grouse Mountain. For any shopaholics, Metrotown - a vast shopping mall, is only about 20 minutes away.Allow plenty of time for your visit!
We would like to return to British Columbia in the future and would consider using this hotel, or one of the others in the group, again.

We were delighted to find that the Accent Inn was clean, well-staffed, and just a couple blocks from a Skytrain station, which made it very easy to get into the city. The staff even took the initiative to change our room assignment after a couple of days when they realized we would be in a room surrounded by (possibly noisy) soccer players. We would happily stay in this property on a future visit to Vancouver.

Our stay at the Accent Inn was a very pleasant experience. We paid about 90 canadian dollars per night per room. The staff was very friendly, the room was nice and clean and the nearby IHOP was a great place to have breakfast each morning. The location is convenient although you have to drive about 30 minutes to Downtown Vancouver.
I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights while our son was in a lacrosse tournament. The hotel has just been entirely refurbished and is in very good shape. We had a 1 bedroom suite with separate bedroom and full kitchen and living area. Many other types of accommodation also available with studios etc. Good location for access to Hwy # 1. Great to have free internet access and coffee in the lobby 24/7. Hot tub good but inside. No swimming pool but still ok since we knew before we went. Many restaurants in area to chose from when we did not use our own kitchen. Staff extremely friendly and courteous. Note to park at front of hotel overnight for extra security. Seems to be a lot of repeat clients going through Burnaby on business and bus groups and for people going to movie studios across the street or taking courses at tech school nearby. Very easy access to walk to transit system into Vancouver.
