When we arrived on Vancouver Island, my sister who lives in Port Hardy spoke about this place for us to spend the weekend at. So that's what we did. We spent 4 nights there. It was really nice. It was a cabin close to the highway facing the ocean. The cabin was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay. The gentleman who owned the cabins was very nice and so were the staff. I would recommend it to anyone

We stayed here in February during low season with all the families from our hockey team. The cabins were comfortable. We loved the jacuzzi and how private this complex was. We stayed up late by the bonfire with no disruptions from anyone. It is about 20 minutes from the rink that we played at. There is nice Chinese buffet within walking distance called the Driftwood Restaurant. The beaches are across the street and you can beachcomb during the day finding some interesting treasures. I am sure this place stinks a bit during the summer months as there is a large amounts of bow kelp we saw strewn across the beach. Nonetheless, very scenic.

Some years ago, we visited Oyster Bay when the children were younger. For a weekend away, we decided to revisit this resort, and are so happy we did.
Pet friendly was one of our criteria and we were pleased to find that this is an option, with certain cabins designated for people with dogs.
Our stay was perfect, with every amenity we could desire: stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, gas fireplace, couches with loads of pillows, special "pet" blankets, 2 person Jacuzzi tub, plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable, which we appreciated, because a good night's sleep makes a special getaway even better.
Since it was winter, it was great to have a covered porch but in summer we could have enjoyed sitting outside at the table, so it works for either season!
Our hosts were friendly and helpful, supporting us to figure out how to work the cable programs on tv and supplying us with a crib board and cards.
We loved our snowy walk at Elk Falls Provincial Park, a short drive from the resort and for our evening meander we only had to cross the road to get to a wildlife beach.
"Return to Oyster Bay Resort" made for a very special weekend.

We enjoyed our stay, despite our initial surprise/disappointment that the highway is in between the resort and the ocean - we had been under the impression that the resort was right on the beach. Fortunately the highway wasn't too busy or noisy, but if we were travelling with kids I think I would have been more concerned.

The chalets themselves were clean, nicely appointed and comfortable. The 2 person soaker tub was definitely a hit! We also enjoyed the full kitchen (except oven) and the patio with BBQ.

We have stayed at Oyster Bay Resorts a few times when visiting our daughter and her family in the area. This visit we had our son and his family (3 kids) with us and we rented two cabins. When we booked they confirmed that we would be in cabins next to each other and also said that since there was a wedding Saturday night they would put us away from the wedding. When we arrived to check in for our 5 nights they had had a number of guests who had extended their stay so we were put in cabins next to each other (sort of) but the driveway separated us. This didn't turn out to be an issue as we really weren't there during the day or evening. The cabins are clean, comfortable and can sleep 5 if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped and the deck is great for watching sunsets. As one reviewer said even though the road separates you from the beach the road noise doesn't bother you. It was a hot August and there are only two windows in the whole cabin but the evenings cool down so you don't notice it. Great friendly staff and somewhere we will continue to stay when needed. A good time was had by all.

Stayed for the night of June 22 rooms/cabins are clean and even though its located right beside the highway it's not to loud. Each unit has a nice 2 person jacuzzi a BBQ and ocean view, they also have a stove and fridge freezer as well as all the dishes needed to cook as well. But if you don't feel like cooking there is an excellent Chinese food restaurant within a 5 min walk north. Great place to stay

These chalets are set up for romance! Its like having your own little house, over looking the Georgia Strait. They include a gas fireplace,70 jet jacuzzi, little kitchen, wine glasses and the cork screw!, the view from the bed is of the ocean! If you are looking for a place to go that is special to create great memories this is it! We walked across the road and enjoyed the beach, collected sea shells and watched all the natural wildlife.

Room Tip: Request a chalet looking at the beach!
