About 4k trail very rough in sections takes you to the view of the narrows, a great place to see cruse ships go by if you time it rite. Not many do but I have swam in the little bay just befor the view point it can be very warm and has a sandy bottom just out from shore. Don't like the stairs at the end so ugly, but functional

leave nothing of value visible in your vehicle at the parking lot..this trailhead is a few kms north of Campbell River on the road to Port Hardy and Sayward and has been subject to thefts from vehicles .The trail is known to have deer ticks so wear no shorts , use tall socks with snug pant cuffs...carry drinking water and a small day pack if you wish to eat at the trails end view point .recent trail upgrades last year have improved the walk / hike. Allow a few hours for a leisurely pace there and back . ave layers of clothing to allow for various weather conditions .Be fit - not advised for people with heath weaknesses such as cardio or respiratory conditions, The hike is not extreme but must be respected

The parking lot for the trail comes up quickly and only a small sign so have to watch for it. We are middle aged weekend hikers and it took us 1 & 1/2 hours to get to the lookout. A beautiful view, totally worth it. In many areas trail is narrow so often brushing up against the greenery, be sure to take the necessary precautions if you're concerned about ticks. Someone had left a great walking "stick" at the trailhead so we borrowed it and left it in the same spot for the next person! Came in handy for going down the steep bits. FYI - no washrooms at trailhead (or anywhere else along the trail).

A good hike but mostly forest, some viewpoints along the way. Good with dogs, last part is steep but manageable.

Traveling with three dogs doesn't always make for easy walking. the Ripple Rock Trail is great for the dogs as there are several spots to let them of leash on the beach. The Hike itself is challenging at some parts, but so worth it for the views!!
