We, my wife and two grandkids, took the 6 hour tour on August 17th, 2011. With our great skipper and his assistant Amanda, describing the journey ahead, excitement grew. We were not disappointed as we saw over 20 Orcas and a seal colony with their offspring basking on the rocky shore.
When we stopped for lunch (which was supplied, Orcas approached the boat we were on as if to check us out or to welcome us to their home.
This company impressed me as they totally respected the Orcas space and didnt try to get too close or chase them down. Occasionally, we would stop and let the whales, approach us if they wanted to....and they did....
Amanda provided narration and very educational details giving us an understanding of the Orcas lifestyle and family values...and much more. She also explained about how to adopt a whale.... Upon our return to our home, we felt ever so grateful in having shared this experience with our fellow passengers and family...not to forget the warm friendly professional way we were treated by all the staff of the company both on and off the water....
If someone is looking for a great experience go with Discovery Marine Safaris....it is totally worth it.
ps: they even have washrooms on their boats...something that we didnt think about when we booked for the 6hr adventure....what a relief.... Jim Howard and Family
