Focus on Salmon Fishing, logging and First People. Nice Building within one mile of downtown Campbell River. A Good way to spend an hour soaking up the culture of this famous fishing area.

We were pleasantly surprised by the breadth and depth of the exhibits. It dealt with all the cultures and industries that comprise the past of Campbell River. It is a remarkably sophisticated museum, especially for a small city. Do not miss!

Well I may have been off season, but the staff were eager to offer information. Only disappointment they do not allow video or photos in the First Nations (aboriginal display area). It is sad that cultural items are kept in museums that some people may never get to experience and I can not share with them.

A must see, even if you're just driving through. Easy access off the old highway, lots of parking. Particularly good on a rainy day! The museum presents the history of First Nations, fishing and logging in a factual way with exhibits you can touch, see, smell and hear. Also a temporary exhibit on the big wildfire of 1938. Be sure to watch the short movie on Ripple Rock.
