We had the most amazing tour with Garry to see the grizzly bears catching salmon. Well worth the expense. We saw several bears, including a mama with 2 cubs. You are right there with the bears, and have the choice of being in the viewing tower (you stand in it - it has a roof and stairs up to it) or on the ground right near the bears. There are 5 different towers at various spots along the river. First you go in Garry's boat, which holds 12 people. Try to get near a window that opens for pictures, as only 3 of the 6 seats have windows that open. The boat trip is 2 1/2 to 3 hours through very pretty country. Then you transfer to a van and go to the viewing stands over a VERY rough road. During this ride Garry serves delicious sandwiches and cookies, albeit tough to eat while on this road. But no one cares because it is all about the bears. The viewing stands start at about 15 minutes from the boat, but if no bears are at the first one, you move on to the next one. You have a lot of time to see the bears once you find them - about 3 hours on land. On our boat ride back, Garry got word that there were dolphins in the area, and went to find them. We had about 300 dolphins jumping around our boat for about 20 minutes - very cool! We could have stayed longer and Garry would have but one person on our trip had a time constraint so we had to go back for him. I HIGHLY recommend Aboriginal Journeys and Garry for an unforgettable trip!
