I had one of the best dinner's in a while at Dolphin's Resort Restaurant I was taken there by friends as a surprise and It was a most enjoyable one. Two of us shared a butter lettuce salad that was wonderfully fresh and contained a combination of Jicama, avacado, cilantro, pesto tortilla strips and a wonderful cipotle , honey dressing. The size of the salad was perfect for two people.
I then had their local bison dish called Island Bison Kofta. It was divine, spiced with Middle Eastern Spices Local Bison Meatball, Kashmir Tomato Cream, Apricot & Fig Cous Cous, Toasted Cumin Crème Fraiche, Crumbled Cashew, Torn Mint, Basil and a great selection of Vegetables, not over cooked. We toped it off with a light desert. The service was excellent it took awhile for our meal to arrive but in the end it was well worth it.

To celebrate a son's 50th we chose Dolphins for a day of fishing & several more days of family & private leisure. Had 2 cozy, very comfortable cabins with celebrated views, each perfectly outfitted as you would expect of a top line fishing/leisure resort.
We arrived to a cheerful reception & were escorted to our cabins in spite of the busy day it was, July 1 weekend. Once assured we were comfortable, we were on our own to simply enjoy the serenity & privacy in a setting that was nothing short of breathtaking, overlooking the active waters of the Strait & on to Quadra Island. Oh MY !
Breakfast could not have been better. The fishing was beyond our expectations too. Each day was crowned with dinner in the delightful golden-glowing dining room. The menu was imaginative, the meals beautifully presented, while the taste-experience confirmed we would dine there every night. Locals consider this a fine dining restaurant with proven reputation. Prices reasonable.
Leaving was a 'heart-tug' experience but there is no doubt we will be back time & again. Yes, a bit pricey but the sweet & fun memories are themselves worth the money, every loonie & toonie.

Room Tip: Check out the cabin locations on the site plan. Book well ahead. Plan to enjoy the dining room often. Friends nearby? Ask them to join you for dinner & a delightful evening, most any time of the year.

We hadn't planned on going to the island this year. But on the way from the car rental, my wife said: "How about heading to Campbell River?" Well, why not! We were there some years ago, and totally fell in love with the place.
It's not cheap, but when you sit in your private hot tub, overlooking Discovery sound - or in total privacy at the rear of the property- then you really feel it's worth every cent you're spending on pampering yourself.
Add to that a friendly staff and excellent restaurant -if you don't feel like cooking yourself.
To us it is truly a slice of paradise. Well worth the journey from halfway around the globe.

Room Tip: The small cabin to the rear has a real private hot tub on the patio. But the ones up front overlook the water -and are the most sought after.

My wife and I stayed at Dolphins Resort for our 11th Anniversary….and let me tell you...it was AMAZING!!!

We actually had dinner there for our 10th Anniversary and eat breakfast there occasionally…so the food is VERY tasty and reasonable.

We’ve never stayed there, so we took the first opportunity to do so. We stayed in the Beach House….and that’s just what it is…is a house on the beach. Dolphins is very secluded….so much so that you don’t feel like you are even in Campbell River still, which makes for a nice get away. The Beach House we stayed in, is even more secluded…we were literally on the water and down from the rest of the resort.
The actual Beach House is a BEAUTIFUL experience.

When we showed up to check in…the Front Desk lady walked and showed us down to our room, which was very nice. She ensured we were comfortable and well situated in our room. We had dinner in the dining room, which include a starter, entrée and dessert. The food being so good and so filling, they let us bring our dessert to our rooms.

My wife and I sat in our beautiful room, ate our dessert with wine in a nice room that had a nice fire place, king sized bed and an immaculate view!!! After dessert we had to try out the hot tub and while sitting in there drinking some wine, we watched 2 cruiseships pass…it was amazing!

We lastly fell asleep and woke with the sliding glass door open to sound of the waves hitting the rocks below…it was great experience….and THANKS to the Dolphins resort…our 11th Anniversary will be one to remember.

If you get a chance....check out Dolphins!! They have terrific staff, immaculate accomodations, and amazing food!!!

-Curtis
