“Best place in town”

Now, to be quite honest all the places were not visited but there was only a few days. This is a combination sports bar and restaurant. I was clean and the menu complete. They could probably take ten items off the menu and you wouldn't even notice. The food is good and the prices are in reasonable.

“Always Exceptional Food and Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

On my business travel while staying in Castlegar, the Black Rooster is always my first stop for dinner. The food is always fresh and well presented. Try their daily soup, amazing! Sit in the 'pub' side and you can catch a game on their multitude of screens and you can even carry on a conversation when it is busy. Highly recommended.

“Chaotic Service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were in for lunch and were not greeted at the door, so we sat ourselves at a small booth. It took almost 15 minutes to be acknowledged and given menus. It almost seemed like we were being blamed for seating ourselves. Our server was curt and borderline rude to us. Both of us have been servers in the past and we were shaking our heads a lot of the time at how unorganized and chaotic the service seems to be here. It seems as though every server takes tables in every section of this very large restaurant, which leaves them all running around. We later found out that our server is the manager, apparently she does neither job well.
The up-side here is that the food is great, large selection from pub type fare to steaks and seafood. They have amazing soups made fresh every day and they even have a menu for celiacs which thoroughly impressed my friend who is gluten intollerant.
Great place if you want to have a good meal.

“Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

My boyfriend and I went out for drinks and dinner here. I ordered the special (steak with mushrooms ect) and he ordered another one of their steak dishes. The waitress informed us due to popularity that they had run out of the special but would upgrade me to steak and lobster for free. it was tasty
