My husband and I spent 2 nights in one of their one bedroom suites. The room was spacious and beautiful with a full size kitchen. It was so close to mount washington, we spent an afternoon tubing and eating beavertails. The shuttle service brought us to our dinner reservation and picked us up right after we paid the bill. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We had a lovely view of the garden, really enjoyed the sounds of the fountain and koi pond. Staying...

Stayed here just a change from my usual stay at Travelodge, a good subsitute as the decor, heated pool are great and modern which somewhat contradictory to its name "Old House". Its close proximity to shops are also a plus. Continental breakfast with various muffins and refreshment are also nice. Too bad the kitchennete does not have a stove like the one they have at Travelodge.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are better, closer to swimming pool and breakfast..:)

We stayed at the Old House over New Year's Eve. Staff very friendly, one bedroom suite in the second bldg. lovely and clean. Kitchen (we didn't use) well stocked for cooking. Nice to grab a muffin from the breakfast offering in the main building hallway. Also enjoyed the crock pot of hot apple cider in the afternoon after a hot tub. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. Pool a little cool for a January dip (for us anyway). Cozy robes in the room were a plus.
For us; we found the mattress and pillows very uncomfortable. My husband travels a lot and rarely complains about mattresses but this one was not a fit for us.
We were in a ground floor suite in the second bldg. The tile floor in the kitchen and bathroom was freezing. Put our shoes on to go to the bathroom. The carpeted floors were coolish. It would be nice if they would provide slippers with the robes for the ground floor. We asked the maid if we were missing a switch thinking there might be heating under the tiles but she did not know and said she would notify us if there was. There musn't be as we never heard back from her. So, if you get a ground floor suite make sure you pack your slippers! We had a New Year's Eve meal at Locals restaurant and found out they are opening in the Old House at the resort this spring. What a coup!! Best meal ever!

Room Tip: Try and avoid ground floor in 2nd bldg if you like warm feet. The noise level was fine. Could hear...

We stayed in a one bedroom suite for New Years Eve. It was lovely. Extrememly spotless and very comfortable. I loved how the large bedroom window faced the river and we walked the river trail the next morning. Check in was a breeze, parking was readily available even on New Years Eve. With the location being in the heart of downtown we didn't even need a cab to get to our dinner destination. Just walked!
I highly recommend the Old House. I only wish I had a chance to use the pool or the spa. Next time!

Great kitchen, top quality bed linens, washer dryer, great living space. Make sure you enjoy the Outdoor pool ( it's heated really warm) and hot tub too, especially if you are here in winter! Only annoyance was we were on the second floor of the 3 story building and we could hear the thumping footsteps of the people upstairs - maybe they had already put on their ski boots! Next time we will request a top floor room to avoid this.

Room Tip: Request a top floor room to avoid hearing thumping footsteps through the ceiling.

I stayed at the Old House Village Hotel and Spa for 3 nights after new years and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of its rooms and services. The Comox Valley has been lacking for some time a place such as the OHVH & Spa with more options tailoring to the economy end of the scale. The decor is true to west coast style with liberal use of wood and green hues, and the suite that we stayed in was well apportioned with all the amenities one would need for self catering stays. The hot tub was out of order due to a guest forgetting that shampoo and jetted tubs don't mix, but the the hotel had it fixed in a short time. The only qualm is that the the suites are in a separate building that is about 75 meters from where you check in and where the main pool is. So this could mean some chilly walks in robes in the winter time. Also parking was a little short in supply at the time when we stayed there. Other than those little details the stay was very nice!

Room Tip: If you like self-catering go for the suites as the kitchen is really excellent! Also for the skiers...

My wife and I are from Ontario and recently stayed here for 5 nights prior to Christmas. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean (the cleaning staff must be commended), and we had everything we needed for a great stay. The service can only be described as outstanding! The pool and hot tub were very enjoyable. The spa was unbelieveable. The location is very convenient with lots of parking. Free local calls and wifi. The challenge for the hotel is to maintain these high standards. We clearly will be back. This was an awesome experience!!
