“Most Pet Friendly Spa!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We found the perfect pet friendly place to hang out with our two legged and four legged friends. The dog friendly rooms were cosy and adequate; however the kitchenette only included a bar fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle and some cups and wine glasses (no microwave or stove). Five stars given to the friendly staff- they were courteous and made you feel really special! There is even a hose in the parking lot to wash your dogs after a day at the beach. We liked the nice white clean linens and the beds were heavenly, better than the Westin Hotel.
On another note, the resort accommodated our dogs and the fee was very reasonable! We are considering making this an annual event. The shoulder season discounts helped offset our ferry costs! Overall, we enjoyed the spa time with friends, special walks with our pets in a beautiful natural setting, and being able to hang out in a nice clean room. The only issue was Housekeeping overlooked vacuuming on the first day.

Room Tip: There are pet friendly rooms. However, dogs are not allowed in the garden areas which is outside of...

My suggestion: do the Pacific Mist Hydropath when you arrive, dine at the resort your first evening, and stay at least a couple of nights. Hot stone massage and facials are beyond words. I understand they have units for folks with pets, too - which will be a bonus as we now have a dog.

We headed back to the Kingfisher for our Anniversary. We were here 10 years ago, and it hasn't changed much. I agree with the previous comment, the place loks a bit dated, but the attitude of the staff makes the experience. They are wonderful.
After enjoying the hydropath, swim and massage, we headed home relaxed and refreshed.
I hope the carpets in our room are cleaned before our next return.

In spite of the fact that this hotel/spa enterprise is not IN Courtenay but six miles south, it is easy to find and well worth the trip. Although the place looks a bit dated, the experience was perfectly fine, and the "Hydropath" was exciting and exhausting at the same time. A real plus point is the attitude of the employees, from the reception onward. Every request is treated with courtesy and rapid results. Very much recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for an "ovean-view" room.

We stayed here the second week of March and thoroughly enjoyed our getaway. Having stayed here a few years ago we were familiar with the setting and this return trip turned out even more enjoyable. The beach front room was fabulous. We had a corner room and enjoyed the dozen or so sea lions nightly feeding in the harbour in clear view from our sofa. We enjoyed breakfast and dinners in the restaurant. The menu selection with most dishes prepared with local ingredients was perfect. The spa was so nice to take advantage of this trip...a true relaxing getaway for sure. We will definitely be planning a return trip.

Comfortable, basic rooms with a little kitchen (stove, sink, microwave, fridge) and a balcony with a view to the ocean. Sooo nice to walk down to the rocky shore and find some oyster shells. There are no elevators. The restaurant is open from 8am to 8pm only, but the drive is 10 minutes to other restaurants for meals outside these times. The front desk is not staffed 24hrs in case you want to check out early. The shower might be weak with low water pressure.
