Clean, comfortable bed and pillow, roomy, great service, free hot breakfast, good WIFI speed, good restaurant, connected to Casino (if you're into that), good water pressure in the shower (hard to come by these days). Fort St. John is not a big city/town so location is not that important, it is located right off the main highway so it's very convenient. This was my second stay at this hotel and it was even better than the first time a year ago.

Room Tip: Look for a promotional or discount code for savings.

The Pomeroy Hotel is definitely the #1 place to stay in Fort St. John BC if you are also looking for those sweet extras, some pampering and modern facilities; otherwise the pricing is not for the "just need a room to crash" crowd so you should research for road travelers' budget hotels/motels, of which there are good ones to choose from, no worries.

I stayed for 3 nights, travelling to FSJ from Calgary for a family wedding. Bar none, the facilities are brand new, upkept and every detail is looked after by a very professional and friendly staff.

The highlights for me were the super-cushy beds, bedding, pillows and perfectly quiet night's rests - so much so that I wish I could have waved a magic wand and copied the bed and bedding for my own home! You will sleep like a baby.

Next is the buffet breakfast - yum! Easily $20 pp in Calgary, however it is included with your stay. Hot items like Eggs Benedict, bacon, sausages, custom waffles and Starbucks coffee, lighter items included whole grain cereals, varieties of bread for toast and bagels, yogurts and fresh fruit. No matter what you like for breakfast, you'll find the buffet will have something fresh and tasty to start your day on the right foot. The seating area and buffet were vigilantly upkept by lovely, cheerful staff and served until 10:00 a.m.

I needed to use the Business Centre for some important printing, copying, scanning and email - the services at The Pomeroy Hotel met each need and I accomplished my work quickly and without interruptions.

Ahhh... the hotel hot tub was at a perfect temperature to soak sore muscles and aches after a long 10 hour drive from Calgary; I just made it in on time before the facilities closed at 10:00 PM - did not use the waterslide or pool as I was feeling very relaxed and ready for a good night's sleep after only 20 minutes in that hot tub! The only item to note for improvement was that the hot tub jets were not functioning (dial on the wall), however I only cared about the cleanliness and heat of the water which was perfect.

As for the Chances casino, unfortunately I did not have a chance to check out the gaming facilities as my time was dedicated to a family function; however I would very much like to play next time I visit Fort St. John BC! Ditto for Tony Roma's restaurant and the fitness centre, of which I am sad to not have had enough time to check out and enjoy.

In conclusion, choose The Pomeroy Hotel for your luxiourious stay in Fort St. John, BC - feel free to contact me if you'd like more impressions.

Cheers!

After my third trip to FSJ in as many months I returned to this hotel for various reasons. The cleanliness of the hotel, its helpful staff....I had issues with the vending machines and my money was quickly refunded at the front desk with-out question. Its proximity to the Chnaces casino and to Tony Romas are great...you don't even have to go outside!..but the best is the free breakfast...seriously you'd pay 10-12 bucks for what you get anywhere else...and its a hot breakfast!....but the other thing to note is the Wednesday night customer appreciation time...during haoppy hour you can enjoy beer, wine and lots of appies at no cost...just another bonus if travelling midweek and if your on a budget!

I stayed here for two nights with work. The public areas were ok however the rooms were large and of a high standard. The bathroom was very clean with good toiletries and a strong shower. Towels were nice and fluffy albeit slightly small. The bed linen was good quality and good wifi in my room. As the sun didn't really set it was good to have the black out blinds.

Only gripe about the room, it wasn't cleaned and I left at 6:15am and returned at 1:30am the next morning, certainly enough to make the bed and spruce things up, no apology, even when I checked out.

The facilities at the hotel were good, the buffet breakfast was outstanding, decent coffee, juice, yoghurt, cereal, waffles and different hot food each morning. The cheese and spinach pancake and Mexican eggs were both good and fresh. The Tony Romas was adequate, but not up to their normal standards, but I had a good glass of wine and was able to watch the world cup football.

Accommodation is expensive in the O&G rich NE BC, so just be prepared to pay what you would pay for a decent hotel in London.

Found it to be a beautiful hotel. I found the service to be very good. Beds were incredibly comfy,
most hotel beds keep me awake and I have to bring my own pillow, I have to say this was probably the best I've slept in a hotel. Air conditioning nice & quiet. Continental breakfast very impressive. Hot food items, lots to choose from. The only drawback is it is a ways away from downtown, which is great for quiet, but a little distance from restaurants. There is a Tony Roma's on site, but we didn't try it after reading tripadvisor reviews and going to other Tony Roma locations like Dawson Creek (no longer there as well as the Prince George Tony Roma's) and being totally disappointed with the food and service. But to be fair, I can't speak from personal experience for this Tony Roma's. As for the Pomeroy Hotel, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Be aware, there are more than one Pomeroy's in Fort St John!

I recently stayed at the Pomeroy Hotel and chose it based on TA reviews. Fort St John does not have too many hotel choices so I was a little nervous. However, the modern room was very nice - more like a suite with a separate living room plus a microwave, fridge and tea/coffee maker. Nice large flat screen TV as well. The lobby is nice and welcoming with a fire, TV and sitting area. Although it is just off the Alaska highway we found the room to be nice and quiet. Also, based on other reviews I requested a room away from the Casino side to reduce noise - turned out to be very quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly. We ordered room service the first night from the restaurant attached to the hotel and it arrived very quickly indeed. Good food. Also ate there the 2nd night and the food was good. I will be staying there again.

Room Tip: Traveller's tip - ask to stay away from the Casino - nice and quiet.
