Great location near to the 3 National Park. Amazing lodges to travel with all the family. The house is big with 3 rooms, kitchen, private jacuzzi, living room and free parking. Everything is so clean. I recommend.

Eagle Lodge was everything we had hoped for and more! Such a lovely cabin for our family of 8! Plenty of space with well appointed living space and fully equipped kitchen. Loved the large wooden dinner table and comfy living room with seating for all! After a day of white water rafting on the Kicking Horse it was the perfect way to end our day! Nothing better than fresh mountain air with stunning views while soaking in the hot tub! We will definitely be back! Thanks Dave and Jo!! The Culp Family

Very Secluded yet close enough to town and the Parks. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Setting was very quiet and scenic. Awesome place to stay. Would definitely go back if we visit the same area again.

Views and comfort are exceptional. There are thoughtful touches everywhere such as condiments, towels for the spa, dvds and cosy heating.
Our host Jo made us feel welcome and provided us with bear spray. The cabin has great views. We are 2 couples travelling together and the layout worked well.

We stayed at the Deer Lodge between September 1 to 3, 2019. We were looking for a cabin where it would be nice and quiet but still close to Yoho National Park. Formerly we had stayed at a place at Lake Louise and it had been OK but not great.

This place is well run and thoughtfully prepared for guests. There is a bedroom on the main floor where our son stayed and we had the bedroom on the top floor. Kitchen was excellent with all supplies we needed for cooking in home meals. We also found that they had thoughtfully provided olive oil, vinegar and some condiments. There was enough plates and cups/glasses for us to use as well as cleaning supplies. We didn't use the dishwasher as there was only the three of us.

We mostly stayed in the cabin or went to Yoho National Park and on the last day we did the gondola ride at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The Kicking Horse Mountain Resort: Gondola Ride was fairly empty which is really a good thing after the pandemonium at Lake Louise all the time. We had a small walkabout but we didn't want to miss the ride down. I suggest you go early and have a day walking around the top of the mountain. It's very pretty. There is a restaurant at the top but we just took snacks with us and water.

The first day at the cabin was basically doing nothing much. We wanted a quiet vacation. There are three horses and a well behaved dog at the place; I could see the horses from the wraparound deck of the Deer Lodge. The BBQ provided was useful as hubby got to make the meals outside. We only used the hot tub once on the second day after our hike at Yoho National Park. The last day was pack up day so we got our stuff in the car and said goodbye to Jo. She's the owner. She has owned the place for 15 years and run it with her husband. It's a big job considering that there are folks coming and going all the time. But it does look like a nice lifestyle if you love snow sports.

I am thinking of doing our family reunion here in 2020. I think it's a good place for folks who want privacy, quiet and yet be near to the 3 national parks in the vicinity. We only got to Yoho National Park and I don't know why it's taken us so many years to revisit one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Golden is a nice town and full of bears. We saw the bear sign on the highway to the lodge and didn't expect to see bears but a fat brown bear crossed the road as we were driving. There was another younger bear in the garden up to the lodge. My son saw a mum bear and 2 cubs as we were driving back to the lodge. This is the most bears I have seen since we last visited Jasper.

We were lucky to have fantastic weather. The last night it rained but we didn't notice it. The beds were comfy, the bathrooms clean and good; the holiday passed in a flash.

Room tip: We stayed at the Deer Lodge. If you can try the Eagle lodge which has the most privacy.
