Went into town to the Spirit Square at the east end of the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge is really beautiful, but so too is the story of how the bridge project came together. Along the bridge are plaques with a photo-history of the development, construction and a salute to the hundreds of local, national and international volunteers who made the project happen. Surrounded by the snow capped Purcells and crossing the Kicking Horse river. Unbelievably beautiful. Spirit Square is a well designed community meeting place with a water feature that kids love to explore and frequent musical events. The night we were there, there was a band from Denmark and a local band. Kept us entertained for hours. Lots of "wee ones" enjoying the music, playing with friends and freedom, but well cared for by parents. Great and inspiring spot!
