downhill biking at kicking horse but no condos available on hill. Have stayed at ramada before, quite nice. Days Inn could use refreshing. Very older-style motel-ish. Beds comfortable. Included breakfast ok. Kids enjoyed pool. Beautiful views. Outdoor eating area open in evening is nice. Overall, way too expensive for what you get. $250/ night for 1 queen and 1 double. Rented condos at Sun Peaks and silver Star mountain resorts for same price.More

Quite frankly I was not expecting much of this hotel after a week of, to me, expensive but ordinary places. The pet friendly also put me ogf as I feared it would be overrun with animals! However I was pleasantly suprised. Big, very clean, room boasting a spectacular mountain view. Kids thrilled to have a indoor pool and waterslide with long opening hours, which were not well featured in their advertising. It is on the hill above town as you head west so I managed to miss the turnoff (on the right immediately opposite the hotel on the left) which meant an unplanned trip through Golden to find a spot to turn around and try again. It is pet friendly (a few quiet small dogs in evidence) but none of the downside of that I was expecting. No pet smell, no noisy animals. An added bonus is the on site restaurant which means if you are tired after travelling you do not need to venture out for food. All in all a good stay.

We have stayed here before, but it is very different. The rooms are poorly kept (we found a box of Tampons in the room), and the free wifi did not work.
The restaurant used to be quite good, but the food was barely edible. Service was slow, mixed up orders & they were very slow.
Will not return.

Our room was spacious but not clean - unpleasant smell, hair in the bathroom and greasy pots in so-called kitchen, which didn't even have a kettle or glasses. The cooking pots were covered in grease and look like thrift-shop rejects with bare metal handles - good way to burn yourself if you're not careful. The beds had small square pillows - more like couch cushions than bed pillows. Breakfast was a joke - powdered eggs, disgusting greasy sausage and toast-your-own Eggo waffles, served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. This was the most expensive hotel stay in our 2-week trip and by far the most disappointing. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet and the laundry facilities were reasonable. We didn't bother to use the pool. We won't stay here again.

Stayed overnight while visiting BC. Kids loved the pool and slide! Breakfast was a typical Days Inn breakfast, not too fancy but enough to keep you going till lunch. Room did smell a bit but left the door open for a bit and it was fine.

This is a two story 1940's motel, no lifts, no pool, ice machine out of order bar staff out of order. They were unable to make basic mixed drinks, We waited 15 minutes to be served with hot bottled beer when we complained the hot beer was poured into a frozen glass which soon defrosted imparting little coolness to the beverage. We decamped to the township (45 min. walk) in a taxi driven by Golden Jim to a local eatery the Wolf Den had a great night surrounded by Canadians ,most of the tour group had pizza at the motel. In the morning the horror continued breakfast was cereal cold or still frozen pork sausages salty rubbery eggs frozen bread to toast all to be eaten off throw away plastic plates, knives and forks.Coffee was consumed out of takeaway paper cups

This is definitely not the standard of service that we are known and loved for. We do have an indoor pool with a water-slide, hot-tub, dry sauna and ice machines. We understand your frustration with regards to the restaurant, however, when ninety people from a tour group come in together to dine, a fifteen minute wait for your order is justified. We, as the host, expect that you, being the part of the same tour group, would understand this. Needless to say, we will work harder to serve you better in the future. We also understand your concern about using plastic cutlery and paper cups for breakfast. We are currently materializing our plans into becoming more eco-friendly. We hope that this experience will not hold you back from planning another stay with us.
