Owner description: Kicking Horse has attracted rave reviews after just seven seasons for its awesome vertical, deep powder and spectacular terrain mix. With an express gondola accessing over 4100 ft (1260m) of vertical, you’re bound to ski and ride an impressive feat of terrain comparable to only that of heli-skiing. Coupled with summer activities such as mountain biking, wildlife education, and alpine sightseeing, this is a place where the stories are almost too tall to believe.

Kicking horse is an excellent mountain, though not for those looking for a nice easy ride. The ticket lines could be super long this week, but wasn't a problem if you were there by 9am, Same goes for the gondola. I found the staff happy and friendly, considering they had to deal with grumpy people who were upset about waiting. Once we got to the top we tried to stay up, as the lower mountain was a bit skied out. All in all a great time, the mountain has one of the best bases in the region right now.

“Kicking Horse - Bad Skiing Experience”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Worst managed resort in Canada. The busiest week of the year.....no grooming, gondola stops too many times to count, no snow making, they didn't finish brushing the lower slopes so beginners and intermediates have to fight their way through willows and other trees and brush.

Line-ups are terrible due to frequency of the gondola stops which is the only lift to the alpine.

Hope others will be more honest in their reviews. This could be one of the top skiing destinations in North America but under past and current owners/managment they are making a mess of it.

Great food and terrific service. Surrounded by windows overlooking the Purcell, Selkirk and Rocky Mountains. Can't be many places on earth as inspiring and beautiful.

“Boo the Grizzly Bear”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

We recently visited Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to go on the ranger assist program & visit Boo the grizzly bear, to hear the tragic story on how Boo was orphaned was so sad but to see how the resort has built this fantastic purpose built enclosure was incredible. We done the ranger assist program as we arrived out of season & were able to take some fantastic photos of Boo. We highly recommend a visit keep up the fantastic work Kicking Horse resort please look after Boo.
