Owner description: Kicking Horse has attracted rave reviews after just seven seasons for its awesome vertical, deep powder and spectacular terrain mix. With an express gondola accessing over 4100 ft (1260m) of vertical, you’re bound to ski and ride an impressive feat of terrain comparable to only that of heli-skiing. Coupled with summer activities such as mountain biking, wildlife education, and alpine sightseeing, this is a place where the stories are almost too tall to believe.

“You Gotta Love the Steep and Deep”

This is an amazing mountain for any accomplished skier. Full of steep terrain and amazing Rocky Mountain powder lines.

Not much in the way of groomer runs, so i wouldn't really recommend for the novice at heart.

“Skiing in the Rockies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

This is great ski resort if you're a beginner or advanced skiier. There are lots of green runs and, also, lots black & double black diamond runs. Though there's fewer blue runs, it doesn't really lessen the experience because the runs from top to bottom are extraordinarily long. There are lift on the lower and upper parts of the mountain but there's also a gondola that takes you from the bottom of the mountain right up to the top.

The best, though, are the views. The valley is gorgeous!

“Great mnt.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Amazing mnt. chill atmosphere, advanced riding terrain, remote village, great getaway. I recommend kicking horse to a more advanced skier/snowboarder, who is there for the riding, and not big crowds. Unlike some ski resorts it is a more quiet stay, but it still has good night life if you want to find it. More mature crowd.

“Our mountain top wedding”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

We loved the mountain view for the ceremony, but everything else was horrible. Between the initial booking and our wedding there was a change of wedding planners, but the resort never got hold of us to communicate this. It was only after I phoned head office, (after waiting 8 months ) did I find out why our emails and phone calls were never returned.

3 weeks prior to the wedding we were told that the resort would be closed because of lack of snow, however they were open December 1 -9,and December 13 and onwards, but could not be open December 10 - 12. Then 8 days prior to our wedding we were told they would be open for business. ?????

As a bride I was handed a bill minutes prior to boarding the gondala by the wedding planner and was asked, " WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS?" This was news to me as they kept placing unexpected charges on my visa. Thank you for your unprofessionalism!

(Even 2 days later they placed more charges on my visa with no authorization!!!)

The menu at the EAGLES EYE could not be ammended to suit our 4 person wedding party, which only did groups of 25 pers! (However they assured us for months that they could!!!)

The grill walking bridge to enter the EAGLES EYE restaurant for the ceremony did not have a carpet for the bride so her heels did not fall through the metal holes, for the 15 foot walk to the door. Did they not know about the wedding?? Is there no communication between departments on the resort????

The event organiser for KICKING HORSE RESORT made it impossible to communicate with due to her inability to have an alternate plan.

All looks - poor skills, would never reccomend this to anyone getting married. Horrible customer service. It appeared that they were willing to say anything to get the business but could not produce!!!
