First time to ski the slopes of Kicking Horse Mountain, and we had excellent accommodation on the hill. The gondola was just outside the hotel locker room door.

Our condo was spacious, clean and lots of room, it even had a washer and dryer. The staff were friendly and made every guest feel special. The outdoor hot tub was just what we needed at the end of the day, then to relax on your couch with the fireplace on with a glass of wine looking at the spectacular mountain. If you like luxury and a challenging ski, I highly recommend accommodation at Glacier Mountaineer Lodge at Kicking Horse.

Room tip: If you want a view of the mountain and gondola, mountain side is a good location

What a treasure. Super nice rooms. Clean and spacious. Lots to see and do. The gondola and the chair lift are great and the grizzly bear sanctuary is amazing. You have to have lunch at yhe top of the mountain. I believe it's called "The Eagle's Eye". Great experience. I hope to return one day for another visit.

We, on our most recent trip to the Canadian before heading back to Florida where we lived we stayed up at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the views were breathtaking. We had read the reviews about the rooms being small, and the staff un-attentive. But our experience was anything but those things. We enjoyed a one bedroom suite with a balcony, a fully stocked kitchen (supplies: pots, pans, silverware, etc. not food). On the cool nights, the fireplace was a nice extra.

Then there were the staff. Poppi the housekeeping leader, Brandy, Simon, Agatha, and the whole group were exceptional in meeting our needs and exceptions. The views are outstanding. We were on the backside in Glacier-Mountaineer Lodge facing away from the ski hill. This gave us an outstanding view of the Rockies to our east.

One word of caution, in reading the reviews, we knew that some people didn’t enjoy the hotel/condo in the summer due to heat. It was probably cooler on the east vs the west side of the property as there is NO A/C in the building up on the mountain. While we found it very comfortable, we were not there in the dead of summer. In the question about noise: As for noise it was very quiet...but that could be time of year. I am sure snowboarders and skiers can be loud in winter. It is supposed to be a very tough hill to ski...which good skiers/snowboarders like the challenge. But in late summer/early fall, it was very peaceful!

We will gladly go back...already planning our trip for next May when the bears come out of hibernation. Usually we stay over in the Canmore area, which is beautiful. But we really enjoyed the authentic mountain town of Golden and the NOT TO MANY people as we faced last May in Lake Louise, Banff and Canmore. So for now on, most our time in the Canadian Rockies will be in B.C. at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.

Room tip: We enjoyed our room on the top floor very much. We also prefer the backside of the hotel facing The Rockies.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting Golden. We were absolutely in love with this place. The views were stunning, the location was incredible. Our suite was remarkably clean and well stocked with supplies (extra toilet paper, towels, tissues, dish soap etc)
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We accidentally stayed a few minutes too late in the hot tub and the Front Desk Agent who's name I forgot to grab (mid 20's ish, brown hair, wonderful accent that wasn't Aussie) was so kind and funny when he bumped into us leaving. The elevator wasn't working when we arrived but we didn't find that to be a problem at all. If you're coming to golden you're probably doing active things anyhow. Are stairs going to kill you? No.
When we checked out Mila was at the Front desk with an awesome smile and cheerful personality.
The hotel did not have air conditioning, as stated below in the 1 star review. This does NOT mean it's "not good for summer". Who the heck is coming to Golden BC to sit in their Air conditioned hotel room? Get over the air conditioning if that's your issue with this hotel. Everything is exceptional. Go outside and enjoy the breathtaking views this hotel has given you. Or go chat with the friendly staff. I also happened to love the magnetic screens instead of the screen doors. Much more convenient.
I'd also like to add that I did not experience any bird poop on the windows or deck in my suite, but if I had, I would understand that this hotel cannot control the birds. It's a bird.
This hotel did not have a pool, but why the heck would you need a pool? You're 10 minutes away from a gorgeous lake and rope swing. Go outside guys, stop complaining. Say thank you to your staff- Mila & mid 20's guy with great accent & brown hair- go enjoy Golden and stay at this hotel.
