What a wonderful B&B! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon the Kicking Horse Canyon B&B while looking for a romantic, unique and quiet getaway. We were very excited to finally relax and enjoy our evening after our drive from Calgary. Let me tell you that everything about this stay made us want to come back!! The room (Eagle Nest) was cozy with a beautiful view of the moutains. Jeannie was beyond welcoming and so nice with us. And... her breakfasts are heaven!!
If you are looking for a one night stop over (which we did) or a weekend getaway this is where you want to go!

A great b&b run by Jeannie who is so welcoming, as if you are a long lost friend or family member. Breakfasts are wonderful and the surroundings peaceful and relaxing. We were in the Eagles nest which is a lovely large room with en suite and balcony overlooking the forest. Saw a mule deer and fawn come right up to the house, got some great pictures. This is a must stay if you are looking for some where in the Lake Louise area but away from the masses. Best b&b we have ever stayed in.

I was traveling by motorcycle and this was my best overnight stop on the whole 3,500 mile trip (how many Kilo's is that??). Friendly host, incredible breakfast, a good night's sleep. Very nice country environment and area and close to Lake Louise and the parks.

We stayed for 2 nights and we wished we could, have stayed longer. The host, Jeannie, is a lovely lady who made us feel at home right away. The place is a beautiful log cabin with a forest view from the cosy but spacious lounge room. Our room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and even though we shared a bathroom (also spotless) it was as though we had it to ourselves.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Everything you could possibly want was laid out on the table of a morning.
Also a deer and her two fawns came to be fed of an afternoon and an evening which was so amazing to us. Even more amazing was the bear sighting in the backyard!

As a side note to same sex couples travelling - this is a friendly property - we felt comfortable and welcome the entire time - highly recommend this place.

The B&B is a very cosy place. After a day of hiking in the mountains we could relax in the hot tub with mountain view. An amazing experience...
Thanks to Jeanny for the warm welcome and the best breakfast we had on our 3 weeks trip.

In January this year (2013) my partner and I were looking for places to stay whilst planning our trip through the Rockies. There wasn't a whole lot of places to choose from in Lake Louise so we decided on a little B&B in Golden called Kicking Horse Canyon. Looking back, this was the best decision we made Accommodation wise! Tucked away not too far from town, this B&B is feels like it is in a secluded location with its Mountain views and wild deer grazing in their back yard. Upon arriving we were greeted by Cedar (Jeannie's pet dog) who seemed excited to see us and then welcomed by Jeannie who showed us through their beautiful log home. The place is amazing with memorabilia everywhere you look. We stayed in the Eagle's Nest suite where we had our own ensuite and balcony overlooking the mountains. The fleece bed sheets were amazing! So much so we went online after leaving and purchased a couple of sets ourselves! Breakfast was delicious and with so much food left over Jeannie packed us up a doggy bag full of left over croissants and home-baked cookies. Our only regret was not staying longer! If we are ever back in the area, we will be definitely staying at the Kicking Horse Canyon B&B again. Do yourself a favour and spend a night (or two) here, you will not regret it! Lynn and Justin, Perth Western Australia.

Room Tip: The Eagle's Nest has it's own ensuite and balcony with Mountain views. The room is large and...

On the long weekend in May this year, my husband, brother and I traveled through the Rockies.
On our return to Edmonton, we stayed at this gem of a bed and breakfast. it is situated high above the town of Golden facing the Purcell Mountains. It is a beautiful log home filled with homemade furniture and memorabilia. Jeannie, the owner, was a wonderful hostess, she welcomed us as long lost friends. We had use of the fridge for any perishables we had and were invited to taste her home-baked cookies. We stayed in the Eagle's Nest suite and my brother stayed in one of the bedrooms that shared a bathroom. Our room was beautiful, with it's own bathroom and dressing room and balcony overlooking the mountains and property.
We had an excellent sleep that evening (could it have been because of the comfortable bed, the wonderful quiet, and fresh air of the mountains?) and awoke to the snow-capped mountains washed in the pale pinks of the sunrise. it was truly beautiful. Breakfast was delicious with a vegetable frittata and bacon, along with luscious croissants and preserves. Cereals, muesli, yogurt, and fresh fruit salad were offered as well. This was served with your choice of coffee or tea. What a breakfast!
Our only regret was that our stay was so short. We would return again in a hearts beat.
