“A fantastic new experience with GREAT guides!”
Reviewed June 27, 2011

My two girlfriends and I did a full day rafting trip and had a great time. It was the perfect experience for all of us, who had no idea what rafting was going to be like or how intense it was going to be. I think what made our rafting trip most enjoyable really was the guides. Our guide in particular was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information with us. Also, its always refreshing to have a guide with a sense of humor. So, that was also amazing. We did the whole day visit and felt like it was very well organized and just the right amount of activity for a full day of rafting. Other than how awesome the rafting was, it would be nice if there was one more set of outhouses avaliable, but I can see how that might be a challenge. Really, thanks for a great time!

“Serious unpreparied for how awesome it was”

I would highly recommend riding the river with Ryan, if you want to get very wet, and experience the best the river has to offer, Ryan should be your guide. I will be personally hog tying my wife and traveling along side my best friend (his wife will also be hog tied... possibly gaged too ;) ). In what will be an annual trip on the river...

“Great fun on rough whitewater”
Reviewed June 25, 2011

We had a great time on the Kicking Horse river with this company! The guides are really friendly and fun, they provide all the kit (including a fleece which I'd forgotten - you need this, at least in June) and a full safety briefing (during which they try to put your mind at ease that all the serious sounding things that they talk about hardly ever happen), and the water is thrilling. We went in early June, and the water was so high that the Lower Canyon was shut (too dangerous), so we did the Middle Canyon a second time, but heading for all the roughest parts that we'd scouted out on the first run.

The water is glacial melt and was a little over 4 degrees: extremely cold! Plus it was overcast when we went, but it didn't matter: the thick wet suit, fleece, splash trousers, jacket, gloves, and the exhilaration mean you don't feel the cold. At the stop half way you get hot chocolate (never tasted so good) and burgers to warm you up a bit. I guess it's warmer in summer, but then maybe the water would be lower.

None of us got thrown out of the boat -- down to the skill of our guide, not because it wasn't rough -- so at the end we all jumped in. Brisk!

We'd done rafting a few times before, but if you're a bit apprehensive, then you can just do the first bit (Upper Canyon), which is very relaxed. The rafts make a brief stop before the going gets tough.
