Owner description: Drive the Scenic Fraser Canyon with its’ seven mountain tunnels through the historic heart of British Columbia and relive the biggest ‘rush’ on the Gold Rush Trail. A location so unique the ‘afterlife’ have come back to use it as a playground. Early explorers refer to it as “a place where no human being should venture”, and man & nature battle here for supremacy.

“A must see sight in the Fraser Canyon!”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Having lived in British Columbia for many years and having traveled up the Fraser Canyon on numerous occasions, we decided that it was time to stop at Hell's Gate. Why we had never done it before is a mystery! The tram ride was incredible and our guide full of interesting information. Once at the bottom, we ate lunch at the little restaurant which serves a great salmon chowder and an exceptional salmon burger. The surrounding scenery is spectacular and the fish ladders, worth the trip in themselves. Do it!

“Thundering Water”

Be sure to get there at least 1 hour before closing in order to get the full enjoyment of this mighty attraction. Stop, rest and consider the amount of work that has gone into building a safe comfortable drive through the majestic canyon of the Fraser River.

“A great place to visit!”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

If you have the time to stop, go for it! The scenery you will see during the tram ride is absolutely breathtaking. The Tram operators are very informative and the employees overall are very friendly! Oh, and make sure to try the amazing salmon chowder! The fudge is also something else to try as well. If you visit in the fall you will see loads of salmon swimming upstream and it is really amazing to see! Really happy I had the chance to visit!

“Most exciting!”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

What a great attraction........fun ride over the Mighty Fraser River. Not at all as scary as I thought it might be! Very interesting about the salmon and their struggle to swim up the river to spawn. Walk across the bridge and stare down into the water to see the salmon trying to go upriver! What a challenge. Lots of history here! Good museum, nice lunch, great gift shop, friendly staff. Free parking too! Well worth the stop so take about 2 hours if you have time.
