Some Scottish and british choices available. Well prepared and traditional, good service had a nice outdoor area facing the street, we sat indoors for the air conditioning, and privacy. Our server was pleasant and friendly, the prices were good for a high end meal.

We went to Angus McToogles twice this past week and enjoyed it both times. These were return visits. First off, this is not a pub, but rather a restaurant with a pub feel. You will find no television set, not loud music, just a warm ambiance. The place sits about 50 - 60 people. The beer selection on tap was good and largely from craft breweries, plus Guinness and Sleeman's Honey Brown. There was a nice lager on tap from the local Invermere brewery (which is also worth a visit.

We found the staff to be friendly and attentive, striking that nice balance of not being in your face, but also ready to take your orders and make menu suggestions. While there is an assortment of the usual pub food, the full meals were great. The lamb burger is made at the local butcher shop (something not even sold in store) on a bun from the bakery two doors down. I will even applaud the liver and onions. Full marks go to the kitchen for what they did with their vegetables - zucchini. carrots, potatoes that were perfectly cooked along side the meal, Hot anf firm. If you need a dessert, you might want to share the sticky toffee budding.

On Friday and Saturday nights, live music rounds out the atmosphere. It is a wonderful mix of folk tunes, leaning heavily on the east coast, Scotland and Ireland. Owner Mike is a a talented musician. He plays in the corner, sometimes with his son and a friend, and does not expect that people will treat this like a concert. The point of this place is to gather with friends, have a drink or two, enjoy the found, the company and the music.

It is interesting to watch people who are seatec attheir tables leaning across to 'strangers' and other tables and engsging in conversations. Such is the atmosphere.

I love this placed and will be back

I got to jam with the owner and the food was great! The staff was fun and the room was very welcoming. If we go back to Invermere, we will definately go back to this place!

We visited Angus Mctoogles after a day of skiing and first impressions were great - vibrant atmosphere and friendly service, but the food was definitely a disappointment. It is typical pub grub fare and should be easy to get right, but unfortunately it's a real let down. We would go back if the food improved, as it's a fun place to hang out, but right now, only if you are not eating.

We frequented this establishment on every trip to Invermere, but we will not be back. We were seated at the bar with our 6 year old daughter although there were tables available. We waited 45 minutes for our food while tables who arrived after us got their food before we did. I brought it to the waitress's attention and did not receive an apology or a discount. After asking for the bill and having my credit card sit on the bar for 10 minutes we got up to leave. This was the only time our waitress moved at an acceptable pace. Also, the layers of dust on the light fixtures, fans, and decor are enough to make a health inspector cringe.
