Went in for a nice drink and appetizer after the lake. Took the waitress with lots of tattoos about 15 minutes to get our drink order then ordered food, just nachos which came out 45 minutes later without the waitress ever asking if we were ok or needed anything. The table beside us that ordered steaks got their food before our nachos, really?!?!. Really bad service and will not come here again. Too bad because it looks like a great place.

Four of us were at the Saturday market in Invermere and decied to walk down to the lake. We came to 'The Station' and decided to stop for some lunch. The restaurant is located right beside the railroad tracks - and just up from the lake. It was a great spot to sit on the patio and have some lunch and a beer while enjoying the sunshine and the view.

Our service was very good -- our waitress was helpful and attentive. She helped with lunch recommendations and ensured the glasses were full.

Between us we had about 3 different beers -- sorry can't remember the names -- but they were all refreshing. The non-beer drinker had a Pear Cider which she quite enjoyed.

Our food came out very fresh and was excellent. The chicken quesadilla, the Santa Fe chicken burger and the fish tacos were served hot with amazing french fries and a nice coleslaw. You can pick your sides - there were several other options - it just happened that we all felt like having the fries and coleslaw. Another friend had the beet & goat cheese salad -- again very fresh and flavourful.

No trains went by during our meal -- so it was quiet and we enjoyed the lake view very much. The only negative for this place was that it was a bit dirty -- could use a good scrub on the floors and windows.

As far as Canadian pubs go this was quite good... quite busy and popular, which added to the atmosphere...

Service was friendly, our waitress was very good at recommending the huge selection of ales and beers that are brewed in the area. I was really impressed with how much local drink was available. Cocktail menu looked vast and delicious too...

Food menu had good variety, I went for a burger because I love burgers. The chips (fries) were the best I have had, crispy and buttery... which was different and I really liked it. The burger was garnished very well and was delicious, their "secret home-made recipe" was certainly lovely.

My only issue was with the venue. Beautiful view but the building could do with a good clean.. Cobwebs and flies at the window, air conditioning (it was uncomfortably hot in there) and it could have done with music or something to add to the atmosphere. It was ok because it was busy but I imagine that it feels dead at quiet times.

Summary: Could do with freshening up the premisses but that should not get in the way of the great drink and food available. 5 star food, 3 star venue...

We ate here July 29 and had a great time. The outdoor patio was very inviting and the service was great. A must try is the fish and chip dinner. The Mojito's were a big hit also. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
