“Nice patio, fab local coffee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

Oso Negro is the local Nelson coffee and most varieties offered (there are many to choose from) are organic. Rich, fresh wonderful brew for the true coffee lover. And a really nice patio complete with birds in the trees.

“This place makes me happy!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

The coffee is off-the-hook fantastic. I have finally found a few places in Vancouver (where I live) that sell the Oso Negro beans so I can enjoy their delicious coffee at home. Having said that, whenever I am in Nelson, it is my first stop. The servers are friendly, the space is warm and cozy. It definitely has a locals type of vibe. Fresh food, yummy desserts.

Makes me want to go to Nelson...right now...

Give Oso Negro a shot. They have such great staff, backyard patio, and coffee. Always a pleasure to enjoy a cup with a friend or family here.

“Delicious Coffee and Unique Atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Yes, the coffee is really good. When visiting Nelson this was my go to coffee stop, followed by a sit on the patio to read or take in the fall colours. I am an Americano coffee drinker and have to say that it was a lovely experience savouring this coffee. I have been in and out of Nelson for years and have tried many coffee shops and this one has always been consistent and good. I also bought 4 smaller bags of coffee to take back with me for friends to enjoy!
However, if you are in a rush, well the line ups are long...so be forewarned and just think that this is an indicator of how good the place is.

“A heart felt brew”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

John Meyer and his crew at Oso Negro have created the ultimate coffee experience. By completely restoring and thus recycling an old home they have not only championed the local history but through the use of talented local artists, decorated it both inside and out with a smorgasbord of art works.
The coffee itself is thoughtfully sourced from around the world. No plantation is used that John has not personally approved. The beans are roasted fresh daily at their nearby roastery and delivered across western Canada.
This is a must see venue for any visit to Nelson.
