“Great course”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Course was in great shape and a nice course to play. The one review said they had quit after hole 12 because 10,11,12 fairways were bumpy. They should have kept playing because after hole 12 (on the back nine) it was in wonderful shape. I will definitely play this course again.

“Mountain goats welcome”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

We got a half price deal. Front 9 is undulating. But back 9 requires repeated trips up and down a steep mountain, so a cart is recommended. Excellent cart and golf.

“An Interesting Course”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

During our recent 2.5 week vacation in northern Montana and BC we played eight different courses. Some were admittedly upscale (Eagle Ranch and Grey Wolf) but some were not (Balfour). This is definitely on the lower end in many terms. The worst part were the bumpy fairways that made riding in the power carts a bone-rattling experience no matter the speed. The regulars here must be some hardy folks. We finally quit after 12 holes. If you are looking to play golf in Nelson take the scenic drive to Balfour and play the much better and more scenic course there.

“Great views!”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This is a pretty challenging course in places, with fantastic views down the lake and across to the mountains. A motorised cart is highly recommended as it is a stiff walk otherwise, with some tough uphill sections.

“Quiet Outdoor Dining”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

Some people might not like the view overlooking a golf course, but the mountain backdrop and the greenery more than make up for it. While the service was a tad slow (only one server on duty at lunch time), the food was as good as you can expect at a public golf club. The presentation was excellent and the food, as well.
