“Perfect place to stay while in Nelson!”
Reviewed August 23, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We stayed in the Vahalla suite on the top floor. The bed was very comfortable and the mini kitchen had everything we needed. Our group rented the whole house, so we were able to check out all the suites, they are all very nice! The house worked out great for our group, and the two bottom suites were perfect for everyone to meet up for meals. We were very central to everything and enjoyed touring the town. The parking was very tight around back, as the house was full and we all had trucks, but i would definately stay here again. Thank you Maria for being such a gracious hostess!

“A beautiful eclectic experience”
Reviewed December 8, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

I stayed for 10 glorious days in the Silver King suite at Mistiso's Place Vacation Rentals & absolutely loved it! It was peaceful, warm, artsy and beautiful. Everything I needed was thoughtfully supplied. The owner Maria Schuh is a delightful person. I will book this suite again, the next time I holiday in Nelson BC ♥

She has thought of every thing slippers in the corner local coffee on the counter no detail has been overlooked.I can not wait to go back, loved the retro appliances. Thank you so much .I loved the shopping and my hunny enjoyed laying on the couch watching the activity at the lake.

“Close, Comfortable and Completely Lovely”
Reviewed September 22, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

I just returned home from a Girl's Hiking weekend in the Nelson area and Mistiso's was a perfect place for us to unwind after a long day in beautiful Kokanee Glacier Park! Our trip co-ordinator booked the entire house (5 units) for us as we were 12 in number so everyone had their own bed/futon. The kitchens were well supplied, including the local Oso Negro Coffee, the beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. Due to construction off the alley, we were provided with parking passes to accommodate free parking on Vernon Street out front. There was a little confusion at the start of our stay due to multiple entrances but once the keys were all located, it was all good. We took advantage of the close proximity to Baker Street Shops and had a wonderful dinner out at All Season's Cafe, just 2 blocks away. Recycling and conservation is a priority at Mistisos which we all appreciate! Thanks Maria for accommodating our lovely weekend away!

“Perfect for all my needs”

First of all, if you haven't discovered Nelson and the surrounding Kootenay area, you need to go. Second of all, when you go, Mistiso's is a wonderful location to use as a base for your explorations. Downtown Nelson is only a short walk, and so is the lakefront, the visitor centre, and a co-op grocery featuring many natural foods. Just wandering up and down Baker Street is fun with all the funky shops, eateries, galleries, museums and interesting people. On the same block as Mistiso"s there is a currency exchange, an Irish Pub (great hamburgers) and the Civic Theatre (showing films). .

Mistiso's has off-street parking in the rear which is quite a plus in Nelson. I stayed in the Valhalla Suite (upstairs) and found it to be perfect for me. Check out the video on their website and you will see exactly what you are getting. It is obvious a lot of careful thought went into decorating the suite. Quite lovely.

Nelson itself is a great location for exploring the Selkirk Loop. (You can pick up brochures at the Visitor Centre). There are several day trips available, and all offer an interesting taste of the Kootenay region. Don't miss Ainsworth Hot Springs, Kaslo, Creston, Castlegar and Trail. I love the trip going over Salmo pass into Creston and then driving along Kootenay Lake to the free ferry across the lake to Balfour and then a pretty drive back to Nelson.

“Great Location and accommodation!”

We came to Nelson for our anniversary and stayed at Mistiso's place. Great location and accommodation. We ended up staying in 2 different suites and both were charming and certainly had all the amenities that you would need. Maria was great providing information with places to go and what was going on in town. (Maria is a very talented artist and you will see her artwork in the suites.) I would certainly recommend staying here! Great coffee shop nearby "Oso's" 10 minute walk, they have great goodies including gluten free.

“Another Beautiful Unit in Mistiso's Place”
Reviewed April 4, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

This is our second stay this year at Mistiso's. This time, we had the pleasure of staying in the Valhalla Suite. What a gorgeous studio suite with full kitchen and dinning area. The unique round top window and the angled ceilings gave a very relaxing feeling. And the old wood floors and tasteful decor completed the pleasant ambiance. Everything worked great and the unit was spotless. Bed was comfortable, and all furniture was attractive and in good condition. Towels were big and fluffy, and a pleasure to see natural "mountain sky" hand soap at the sink. Maria continues to ensure her property provides the best experience to her guests. We will continue to make Mistiso's our first choice on any travels to Nelson. The only thing keeping us from giving Mistiso's a 5 "star" is the challenge of accessing parking at the rear of the building. A somewhat rough and narrow (although thankfully short) alleyway. Everything else is top quality. * * NOTE : The Valhalla Suite requires a long staircase to access. If this is an issue, ask Maria for a unit with no stairs.
