Description: We are a diamond in the rough! Here at Trees we have an in-house bakery as well as a full restaurant with everything made in house. If you're looking for one of our jumbo cinnamon buns, you should stop by early - they're usually the first thing to sell! We have a large breakfast menu and a great variety for lunch. The lunch menu is also available for dinner, with additional daily chef's dinner features. Come in and enjoy the great food, humble atmosphere & friendly staff!

I think I've found our new favorite "local" after a friend of mine recommended we try "Trees" . Have passed this place many times in the past, but never stopped. It's on the Port Alberni Hwy, not far from Coombs market (on your way towards Parksville) and apparently it has recently been taken over by new owners and is now making quite a name for itself. It's a café style establishment and they also have a bakery section selling pastries, bread and pies.

I had the hot turkey sandwich and had the choice of soup, salad, fries or cole slaw. I had the slaw with my turkey sandwich and my husband had the mushroom burger with fries. Both meals were exceptional and were large portions. Most importantly, they were served with a friendly smile. The chef/owner (??) came out to all the tables to ensure everyone was enjoying their meals. You don't see this happening too often nowadays.

I would highly recommend you give this café a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

It's an unassuming cafe and can make you leary going in, but it's great food. The portions were huge and home made, down to the bread. The staff was attentive and the chef came out to check on the food. They brought my 6 year old a coloring book. A great experience, very good food!

...and had a delicious Rueben. My partner had a crisp and flavourful veggie burger and soup of the day and it was just a treat, it hit the spot. Our 5 companions also expressed satisfaction with their friendly service as well. Good place to come back to.

Found this spot totally by accident. So glad. After five days on the Island eating (and loving) seafood, this Alberta boy needed a bit of red meat. The basic burger here is fabulous. Hand ground and formed and cooked perfectly. And the fries!!! Partner had a Reuben on hand twisted rye bread. Says its the best sandwich ever with beautifully tender corned beef and rinsed saurkraut. To top it all off, gramma (we think) from the kitchen came out to see what we thought. If you're looking for a great quick lunch on your way to Coombs, Pt Alberni or the far coast. Don't miss Trees!

We arrived four minutes after eleven, when breakfast was over, and were rudely told that we were too late. We got a bit lost trying to find this restaurant and it was our first time in this area. The owner could have been nice and suggested some alternative breakfast type food as a substitute, or anything pleasant and we would have stayed. But he was so rude that we decided not to stay. This isn't a way to encourage happy customers and repeat diners. He needs a PR team or some competition for a breakfast restaurant in the area. Just be nice. Mornings are difficult enough.
