Owner description: Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park straddles the scenic Little Qualicum River, west of Parksville, where impressive waterfalls cascade and plummet down a rocky gorge in a beautiful forest setting. Perhaps the most magnificent park on Vancouver Island, Little Qualicum Falls incorporates the entire southern shore of Cameron Lake, adjacent to MacMillan Provincial Park and the awesome Cathedral Grove Rainforest. Cameron Lake is bordered by steep mountains: Mt. Wesley to the north and Mt. Arrowsmith to the south.

“Great hike for the whole family”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

This is a great hike . Long enough for a good time, short enough to allow for other activities. Trails are well marked and fairly easy. My wife had a knee replacement in April and made it with no problem. The falls are not spectacular but very nice. If you are concerned go counter clockwise from the parking lot to the lower falls first. That has you do the steps down instead of up and at the start. (For a Vancouver smorgasbord, got to the rain forest @ MacMillan Park, the falls here and the beach @Rathtrevor Beach all easily done in one day)

“Free and spectacular”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

It's an easy hike with small children to the upper and lower falls. The views are spectacular. There is no fee for day use and a leisurely walk around the falls is about an hour or so. Well worth a visit if you're on your way up or down island.

“Terrible experience at the campground”
Reviewed September 10, 2013 via mobile

We wanted to stay at this campground on our exploration around Canada. The campsites looked nice. We had a problem in that our tent pegs wouldn't go into the ground so we decided to set up the tents slightly to the left of the official space on a mossy area. Shortly after pitching the park facility officer pulled up in his truck, opened the window and said "here's a little bit of information on your campsite" and handed us a piece of paper to read that explained we could not pitch our tents there. When we tried to explain he was uninterested and rude. we fully understand that we were not able to put our tents there and why but he couldn't even get out of the car and talk to us about it, maybe offer some solutions rather than just hand us a piece of paper. He was SO RUDE that we decided to pack up and leave. This campsite is certainly not what we would call friendly which is a real shame.

“Great hike.”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

For a great little hike with kids, would recommend this. Don't have to walk too far to experience the falls. Nice little spots to go for a dip. Well maintained facilities and paths. Lovely to take a picnic.
