Owner description: Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park straddles the scenic Little Qualicum River, west of Parksville, where impressive waterfalls cascade and plummet down a rocky gorge in a beautiful forest setting. Perhaps the most magnificent park on Vancouver Island, Little Qualicum Falls incorporates the entire southern shore of Cameron Lake, adjacent to MacMillan Provincial Park and the awesome Cathedral Grove Rainforest. Cameron Lake is bordered by steep mountains: Mt. Wesley to the north and Mt. Arrowsmith to the south.

brilliant and powerful waterfalls. wonderful walking trails. Other than that it's your basic provincial campsite. Well maintained, clean sites. Not enough flush toilets and showers ratio to camp sites. Again I find the fees to expensive for the average family in today's economy. There are no places to go swimming and there isn't any beach. But, like I said The falls are awesome.

The park offers picnic tables, toilets and lots of walking trails for differing abilities. Following the very accessible trails near the road take you to the top of the falls with little difficulty and is good for those with strollers, walkers or wheelchairs. The trail to the lower falls and on up to the upper falls is more challenging but does not offer major challenges for most. During damp days it can be muddy and a bit slippery so care is required.
The river and series of falls are very pretty and quite dramatic when the water is high as the channel is narrow and the water gets up a good head of steam coming down. The trees and trails are very nice but less spectacular than the Englishman River Falls area. Some of the trail traverses large rock outcroppings and can be slippery and more of a challenge but there are often side trails that offer easier passage.
The river is well fenced and the bridges substantial but care should be taken with smaller children. It is well worth the effort and not to be missed. Several side trails offer additional hiking experience. Camping is available in the park in two locations but we have not camped there.

Qualicum Falls Provincial Park is located off highway 4, the cross island highway, not far from Parksville. My buddy and I spent about two hours there hiking the trails around the river and viewing both the upper and lower falls, nd the river, which in many places is cut deep into narrow staight up rock gorges.

great groomed trails, awesome scenery, great photo ops abound! I always take guests here when they visit and go here often to run or walk the dog.

This is a great park, trails, waterfalls. We have been there many times. However, WARNING - My sister and I went there in the middle of winter, no one around anywhere, just stopped to walk the dogs. We had not planned on doing that and so had our purses, which we put under the seat of the car and locked up. When we came back, we unlocked the car and went home. That night the Bank called us and asked if we had our Visa cards as someone was wracking up purchases on them. So someone had gained entry to our car, taken just the Visa cards, nothing else and put the purses back where they were and locked up again. I couldn't believe someone was out there watching us on a rainy day in mid winter. Good reminder never to go to parks alone and never to leave valuables in the car.
