Nothing overly special but decent quality, well priced and some interesting rolls. Would eat here again.

This was a cute little place. We knew we wanted to try Sushi being on the Island and we found this on Trip advisor and thought we would try it. No lie ! This place was great, and we were lucky to get there when we did, at around 11:30am on a Thursday as it was packed by 12:15 and people were having to eat outside, or do take out. We had 4 kids with us ranging 14 down to 6 in age and they all enjoyed it. We all had differing versions of the Bento Box which was more than enough food and gave us a great variety to try a number of different types of Japanese cuisine. Good price too !

Sam's sushi is a great place for personalized, attractively-priced, consistent quality, traditional Japanese chef-made sushi.

The best part about the place is Sam and his staff, they are certainly the crowning jewel(s) of the establishment.

I do recommend eating here if you're in the hood--the over all space is intimate (tight on size) and it can be busy so be prepared to wait for a table. Sam does regularily '...close for the season...' for extended month(s) so call ahead in advance in the fall/winter if you are concerned about hours and/or opening dates.

Note: A great place to eat if expedience is not an issue and you desire fresh, personally-tailored sushi with a warm, welcome, neighborhood feel re the eating environ.

*****NOTE: Sam's is a perennial favorite for locals.

Sam offers amazing sushi at an insanely affordable price. He's always on the line, keeping zen and making fresh and delicious food for his customers, and always offers a smile in greeting and farewell. Sushi can be a tough sell for people who don't enjoy seafood, but Sam's offers many vegetarian options, such as the vegetable roll, the deep fried yam roll, and many veggie appetizers like the fantastic avocado salad, edamame, and the vegetable tempura; as well as pork spring rolls or chicken karaage, for example. When we're in town, we make it a point of stopping in at Sam's, and we're never disappointed. Don't miss the banana tempura for dessert!

Sam's is a total charm and little gem. Food is uber fresh, creative and very authentic. Have eaten in Japan many times and Sam's food does his country proud. We ordered food off the menu and he cooked it up. The atmosphere is quaint, unassuming and rather plain but the food certainly isn't.

I have eaten here many times and I always discover new things on the menu. Always so tasty innovative. Don't judge a book by it's cover....the exterior and interior do not tell the story. Sam cooks beautiful, delicious and very authentic food. Everything on the menu is brilliant. And there are some surprises and discoveries you won't find at much more expensive and posh, high-end places. Sam's is the real Deal if you love real Japanese.
