I loved the large trees, green grass, and walking along the beach..It was also well kept, no garbage and great place to run.

Thank Lorraine M

This was a great place to go access the beach, especially at low tide. There is plenty of free parking and many things to explore in the tide pools. Also a great place to fly a kite. Be aware that dogs are only allowed in the forested area, and NOT allowed on the beach in the summer.
We enjoyed lots of time on this fantastic and big sandy beach. Great for building sand castles!

Now that the pay parking is gone.... there is nothing to complain about. Good area for walks or picnics, as well as just a nice day at the beach. There are empty fields to play sports, picnic tables, bbq areas, water pumps to rinse your feet, playgrounds, shady areas and acres of beach to roam.

This is a Provincial BC campsite that has hosted generations of families over at least fifty years that i remember! Situated on the shores of the secluded inland waters of the Salish Sea and set among towering firs and cedars, the sprawling site with large spaces is ideal for family camping along with lots of room for your friends. If you didn't bring one, you'll soon meet one! The kids bike through the paved site, seemingly picking up new buddies along the way, and I'm certain long term friendships can be forged here, as families book in for lengthy stays.

There are fire pits, lots of wood and driftwood, naturalists for site information, beach-combing, midnight forest walks by flashlight, star-gazing and when we were there, meteor showers! If it's quiet you desire, the middle of summer is not the time to visit although there are smaller private campsites in the area.

I've been going here for 40 years and am never disappointed. Used to come with my family as a child for evening picnics and a swim. Later I camped with friends as a teenager. After that it has been trips with my own children, my hubby and the dogs (in the winter). It's also the BEST place in the world for the annual Terry Fox Run each September.
Beautiful year round!
