Have visited the Quay hundreds of times and never get tired of it. Lots of great little food places to eat, little shops to browse and shop in, coffee to drink and the best donuts in the world at the Donut Shop. After that there is a walk around the edge of the Quay on the water, or walk right out on the new Breakwater to admire and photograph the view up and down the Alberni Inlet. In summer Whales and dolphins can sometimes even be seen. The view is breathtaking if you climb the Clock Towere!

This is a great location to have all sorts of shops and restaurants to attract people to the harbour. Sadly there were very few but it has great potential. We saw seals in the harbour just off shore.

Unfortunately we were disappointed in this Quay. It was just a couple stores, one sit down restaurant and nothing much to see. However, it was a Sunday evening in late August but it was a ghost town.

One of the nicest spots in town. Nice path and boardwalk along the waterfront. Can watch the boats, wind surfers, and sometimes even the Mars Water Bomber or whales. A great park for young kids to play on. Quaint shops to check out. And a nice little Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings.

Located just off the main downtown drag, it is a collection of little boutiques, shops and cafes. Parking can be a challenge on a busy day but I seemed to luck out the three times I was there. This is a blue collar town, so the boardwalk and breakwater give you a view of the papermill and cargo ships that are being loaded with logs or other products. If you are lucky, you can spot whales that have followed mackerel up the inlet while you enjoy your ice cream cone. On the weekend I was there, there was a little farmers market and it was just ok, nothing spectacular, mostly craft type stuff. Cute and will kill an hour or two if you stretch it out with lunch or watching the locals fish from the big dock/breakwater.
